UCLA (1-1) at #18 Oregon State (3-0)
Corvallis, OR - The Beavers remember all too well what happened last year when Oregon State last met UCLA. OSU lost a heartbreaking game to the Bruins in Pasadena that came down to a last minute drive where Rossner threw a costly interception to seal it shut for UCLA. Now the Beavers would look to avenge that loss in Corvallis against the defending Pac-10 champions.
The cold, rainy conditions had little effect on the Beavers' offense as OSU took the opening drive and marched right down the field. The drive would be finished with OSU HB Marvin Quinn hurdling into the endzone from one yard out to put OSU on top
7-0.

The OSU defense continued its incredible success as Oregon State defensive coordinator Mark Banker has made a commitment to staying aggressive, forcing a UCLA punt after a three and out. OSU QB Bryan Rossner would look to stay aggressive as he threw over the top to WR Brian Herring where the ball was deflected by the UCLA CB, but Herring came down with it off the tip for a 44-yard gain. The big gain would set up a 44-yard field goal to give the Beavers a
10-0 lead going into the second quarter.
The Bruins finally got in rythm but the OSU defense held up in the red zone, which led to a UCLA 20-yard field goal to cut the Beavers' lead to
10-3. On the ensuing possession for Oregon State, OSU WR Brian Herring was open on the post. Rossner threw a perfect pass but Herring dropped the ball, forcing an OSU punt. On the next possession for UCLA, QB Chris Forcier was pressured and threw into coverage where OSU FS Matt Arnold made the interception.

The Beavers would take advantage of the turnover as Rossner threw to WR James Rodgers who ran a slant over the middle for an 8-yard touchdown to put Oregon State ahead
17-3.

On the final drive of the half, Forcier would throw another interception as OSU MLB Will Darkins picked him off to take the game to halftime.
As the second half opened, the Beavers continued to pour on the pressure, forcing Forcier to throw early, leading to another interception by the fantastic CB David Ross. The turnover would lead to a 3-yard touchdown for OSU HB Marvin Quinn to put OSU up big
24-3.

However, the Bruins finally were able to make some plays on offense and put together a long drive. UCLA HB Raymond Carter was able to get around the edge for a 7-yard touchdown run to put UCLA back in the game down
24-10.

The Beavers would get some bad news when HB Marvin Quinn was hurt after a kick return. Quinn had a foot contusion, but he should be able to play next week. A possession for Oregon State would be ended when TE Pete Rich was wide open, but dropped the ball on third down, leading to a punt after a three and out. UCLA QB Chris Forcier also went down after going down on another Beaver sack with turf toe. Forcier will be listed as questionable for next week. In came backup QB Nick Crissman who rolled out to his right off of playaction, threw a ball deep into the endzone while under pressure into tight coverage. UCLA WR Taylor Embree came up with an awesome one-handed catch in the endzone in front of CB David Ross to make it a one score game as UCLA was only down
24-17.

Now it was the Beavers who were out of sync as OSU punted after another three and out. On the ensuing possession for UCLA, the Bruins suffered another injury as WR Marquis Hampton left the game with a dislocated shoulder. Hampton will be listed as probable for next week but was out the remainder of the game. The OSU defensive line stepped up the pressure as DE Kevin Frahm got his second sack on third and long for UCLA, forcing a punt.
As the game moved into the fourth quarter, OSU continued to struggle on offense and the loss of Marvin Quinn did not help as they were forced to punt after another three and out. However, OSU DE Kevin Frahm was taking over the game, achieving the hat trick again for his third sack to end another UCLA drive.

Unfortunately, the OSU offense was unable to put the game away as they were forced to punt after yet another three and out. All that UCLA needed to do was get into the endzone to tie the game but UCLA QB Nick Crissman was under pressure again and threw under pressure. OSU FS Matt Arnold came up with his second interception of the game and this time Arnold took it back to the house for a pick-six to seal this one shut as Oregon State held on to win
31-17.
