[360] It looks like I'm on my third 360 soon

My second 360 beeps once, then freezes.
I Googled this problem and it appears as though it's a precursor to RROD.
Ugh.
I'm wondering if I should get one of those shiny new 360s, send my old one in for repairs and use it as a backup.
Only problem is I recently spent $150 on a 250-gb hard drive for the thing ... and if I use the transfer cable, the original hard drive will be formatted.

Like JMS said, it's not like you don't have a PS3. I honestly don't know what the "hold" is that the 360 has on a lot of people. They act like it's a drug and can't live without it. I was listening to the CAGcast on my way home this morning and they read a letter form a forum guy who said "Most of my friend's that have 360 have two while ALL of my PS3 friends only have one. Do you think this effects the install base and why the 360's is so much higher?" Of course the hosts all laughed and said "No shit Sherlock!" and kind of ranted about the failure rates. But that is exactly why the 360's sales numbers are so deceiving. It breaks and people just go out and buy a new one. Or MS decides to have a mass banning of modded consoles and guess what...clowns run out to buy another one.

It's not that fucking amazing. it's not like the fucking thing gives you blowjobs or even cooks you dinner. Sack up and stop being a lemming Dave.

I'm not giving up on the 360 because you hate it.
Play Madden on the ps3, then play it on the 360.
Night and day.
And I can't play Forza on the ps3.

I've done it like 6 or 7 times now for different people and all of them get it back within a week.

Last year I sent mine out on a tues. night and got it back friday.

this should pretty much explain the hold u asked about. if that many people have 2 consoles with 1 as a backup i think it shows how much they dont want to be without a 360 if 1 craps out on them. Thats how great it is.

for me personally i will use an analogy i used before.

the ps3 is like a roller coaster ride that has no thrills. you say....yeah, i will go on the ride, but it doesn't do anything for me.....
where as the 360 is like going on the top thrill dragster....when you get on your like...yeah this is kick ass

i know you dont feel the same way and i am not trying to convince you. im just explaining why i would not want to lose my 360 even though i have a ps3....i could deal if i had too though.

plus if dave owns his games for the 360 then having a ps3 backup doesnt really help

I love the new 360 S. I've had it since launch so far and not one problem with it and lvoe the 250 GB of space and the touch sensitive power and disc tray. It also looks fucking great.

I love both the systems. I don't even see a point in debating which one is better because they both provide great games and excellent features.
