He has one of the worst offensive lines in football. That's the key to most NFL offenses. I think he can probably elevate some of the WR, but there's nothing he can do to force the guys in front of him to block or for his center is actually snap the ball properly.

When I see Cutler fail, with an above average line, a true possession receiver, and more importantly a good OC, then I'll say the trade was bad.

I can give Angelo a pass this year on the O-line, I thought going in they made improvements.

I can not give him a pass, when Hester is your #1. He might be a very good slot and compliment a good #1 and #2 wr, but as a # 1 that is unacceptable.

Turner has and will continue to suck with Cutler or without him.

He had all of these things last year and still threw more INTs than any QB in the league besides Favre. He still put up a ton of yards and went to the probowl though I guess.

This is just my opinion. I initially thought this trade was stupid for both teams, because neither QB fit into the other team's "system". I think we are seeing this now, as opposing defenses have figured out both Orton and Cutler.

Orton has done better with Denver because he isn't asked to do as much. He isn't very accurate, but he is a smart decision-maker and can complete passes within 10-15 yards of the line of scrimmage.

Cutler is asked to do a lot more with worse surrounding talent. I think people knew to expect more INTs because Cutler takes more chances. What I don't understand is how inept Ron Turner and Lovie Smith are. Why do you keep allowing Cutler to throw pass after pass in the red zone? Why not give the ball to Matt Forte? Last night, the Niners never figured out how to stop the screen to Forte...the Bears ran it a few times with great success, but when they got near the goal-line they just stopped giving the ball to Forte. Retarded.

So, I think Cutler is more talented than Orton, but Josh McDaniels is a WAY better coach than Ron Turner/Lovie Smith, which really helps out Orton.

I really had high hopes for this bears Oline but they have been dreadful and frankly I don't understand how after the year they had last year. Perhaps they just over perfomed last year and this year we are seeing their true colors...

Also...this Devin Hester WR shit has to stop. It's getting to be ridiculous. Chciago can't even run a hurry up offense as well as they need to because Hester spends haflf his time not knowing what the hell is going on.

Hub Arkush was on WSCR the other day saying Hester should do nothing but worry about returning every kickoff and punt and on offense he should be used as a type of 3rd down running back. Which I agree with.

The biggest positive about Manning was that he seemed to be improving and learning and not making the same mistakes early in his career . Can you say the same about Cutler? (I am asking you honestly cause I don't watch him that much)

This is his worst year in his career...Which isn't long.

I don't think it is a big stretch that under this regime it appears he has regressed. Watch the game, he makes plays that only a handful of guys can make. He plays to win, not to lose. He is like Farve, he never cared about his stats. If he is losing and you are down big and need big plays he will, even if it makes him look like a horrible player.


The Bears right now suck ass. He has to do everything on that team.

Only because Peyton Started all 16 games his rookie year. It's not even fair to compare Cutler to Manning though so I'll just stop.

My issue with Cutler though is him throwing red zone INTs all the time. Other QBs throw INTs too but Cutler throws way more in the redzone than any other QB. That last INT he threw against SF is inexcusable regardless of who your teammates or coaches are.

Beekman started 16 games last year for the Bears at LG.....Metcalf only played in 6 games....

Either way my point still stands...you had 3 of the 5 starters coming back and most felt that Pace was an upgrade at LT over St Claire T and most also would have felt Williams would have held down the fort nicely on the right side replacing Tait

You had 3 of 5 starters returned. Brought in Omiyale, Schaffer, and added a healthy Chris Williams. Coming off the year the Bears OL had last year who didn't expect more of the same or perhaps some improvement?

Omiyale has been a huge disappointment and Williams is well on his way to being a bust.

I agree with your general point though I thought we'd improve over last year and frankly Orlando Pace just regressed to the point where he's almost entirely worthless this year.
