He's had two real years as a wide reciever, and Ron Turner used him like a jackass.

He's had 3 years at WR. 07-09. He spent the entire off season and season in 2007 practicing and playing with the WR's. He appeared in every game that season in some capacity and hasn't done a damn thing.

I don't blame Turner for using him like a "jackass". WHat are you supposed to do with a guy that can't remember the plays?

The guy's got some skills, and like I said. In 13 games,60 catches,800 yards and 3 touchdowns in Turner's caveman offense... Not too shabby for the worst wide reciever in NFL history.

757 yards..not 800 and YAWN at his stats. Johnny Knox, Earl Bennett, and Devin Aroumshodu all had more impressive years than Hester and are all better WR's.

No, there's plenty of worse wide receivers. Most of them just don't start on an NFL team. The ones that develop are the ones that put in the hard work, learn the intricacies of the position, and have the brain capacity to remember the passing tree and read the playbook.

Miles Austin came into the league the same year. Came from a small school, and had little to no clue about how to truly play wide receiver in the NFL. He had to go through a coaching change after his first year. But he "developed". And when I say "developed", I don't mean all of a sudden became a great receiver because of continuity. He worked hard, learned how to properly run routes and rarely fucked up his assignments.

I simply don't think Devin Hester is capable of that.

Martz was on the Score this morning....Great interview I thought. He said he wanted to use Devin Hester as a 3rd down/Az-Azir role. He said Hester could become "stupid good"...lulz Great interview though, and when Martz said it, it sounded convincing! haha

The one thing about Martz, is he never rips a player in public.

He was notorious for just killing certain players in practice, and when reporters would ask about it, he'd always just say things like "Oh no, Joe Germaine is doing fine. He'll be ok, he's doing all the right things, I think he can be a very good player."

Then the next thing you know, he's cutting the same player in the middle of a game.(Yes, that really happened to Germaine).
