Jets fan gets arrested for rooting for the Jets

So then just show the part where he gets arrested, leave the first part off. By them showing him chanting Jets, then immediately cutting to him getting arrested it implies that he got arrested for cheering for the Jets. It even says in the video that description that "Jets Fans arrested at the Jets vs Chargers game for chanting Jets." It's misleading and the video does an awful job at proving that's what happened.

Exactly. Just because there are a few fans there defending him doesn't mean that another fan wasn't the one who alerted secruity in someway.

Yeah, the guy who threw the cup at him probably alerted security and had him kicked out. That doesn't make it right. The people all sitting around him all said he wasn't doing anything so what makes the person who called security in the right, it just makes them the douche bag who couldn't handle another playoff collapse and had to call security to remove someone who was excited to be going to the AFC title game for the first time since 1998 I believe.

I see your point but if anotehr fan alerted secruity, the guy was a little boozed up and resisted, he is obviously going to seem in the wrong even if the fans around him say he wasn't doing anythign wrong.

How many times do you think cop get called to someplace and arrest someone and there are jackasses standing around saying the guy didn't do anything? I would bet qutie a bit.

You're right... He shouldn't have gotten rowdy with the cops because that's always a no-no and gives them an excuse.. Most of my experience is from Angel games because I go to 40-50 games a year and have seen a number of opposing fans get kicked out even though it was one of our guys who started the fight and went undetected by security. I bet one of the toughest places for someone like police or security to feel like they have any semblance of control is a professional sporting event. From an individual standpoint thought if I were that fan, seeing that video blow up the way it has would only make me more upset by the day.

Agreed. Those guys can only control what they see or what is being reported. If a fan alerted them and they show up and the guy is acting like jackass or gets lippy then that's all they can know about the situation. The video is cut so who the heck knows what happened in that indeterminable amount of time during the cut.

Regardless he will get money out of it. There's not only visual evidence but there are tons of statements that would back his story up. Looks like the pigs were just being assholes.

NFL policy, he was being routy and caught on camera. He resisted arrest from the officers regardless whether it was just or not.

Since when is it a law to cheer at a football game? That's all the video showed. That and him resisting arrest. Last I checked if you're getting arrested for no fucking reason you're probably going to try and resist. Might just be me tho.

Last I checked those are the rules Goodell instated so if you have a gripe, take it up with him not the police.


Resisting arrest is resisting arrest, whether the police were wrong or not. You do nothing but make more problems for yourself if you resist.

The police are only 100% in the right because the rules allow them too much leeway to make a decision like that.

I understand them taking him out for being "rowdy" I suppose; it probably just makes their job easier in the end, but the discretion allowed to these cops is more than debatable.

That's something to take up with Goodell then, not the police. How are you going to get mad at the police for following the law and doing their job?
