Ok, but all the "things" that you put into "consideration" for the Broncos not having a bad season were still true at the start of the year when they went tearing off to a 6-0 start. It's not as though they switched to the 3-4, went away from the zone blocking, and got a new QB in Week 7. You'd reall yonly have an argument if the team start 0-6 and ended up 8-8.....like the Titans. Not the other way around...like the Broncos.

Then again you could argue that the Titan's future is much brighter with the emergence of Young, Johnson, the WR corp, the defense coming back into form etc. The Titans are at least on the up swing....

Where as the Bronco's collapse at the end of the year leaves them with a much more bleak outlook of the future...and not as much to look forward to.

And I agree about the Broncos but it'll depend on whether or not their draft picks start showing up. Other than maybe guys like McBath they haven't done much so far. If they blow both the firsts they got from Chicago, and that trade ends up essentially being Orton for Cutler straight up that'd be a huge failure regardless of how awful Cutler has been this year.

You're the one who brought the Titans up. I'm just saying the wins they racked up at the end of the season aren't that impressive. And yes for the last time the Broncos going 2-8 is embarrassing.

Obviously the Broncos didn't switch their philosophy mid season, but for all the changes they made this year, and the offseason they had 8-8 isn't that bad. In fact it's probably 3-5 wins above what most people thought they'd accomplish. Teams can't make all those changes then expect immediate success.

I guess what it boils down to is we have different definitions for what a disappointment is. To me the Broncos exceeded expectations this year so they aren't one.

We all now if Shanahan wasn't fired and no changes were made, Denver would be somewhere between the 7-9 and 9-7 mark, no playoffs, an offense that's top 5 in yards and merely average in points scored (which matters), again, and a defense that could rival last year in terms of suckage, which was the worst defense in the organization's history btw.

That wouldn't have been the case... if I'm not mistaken Shanahan had said that Brandon Marshall would've been cut had he not been fired.

Anyway back on topic... good call senser. I will say that i was way off on my preseason prediction of Denver (I predicted they would win only one game...), however that was only one less than what they won down the stretch so...

You can't ignore the fact that those "changes" were cited as helping them to the 6-0 start but then turn around and say they were responisble for the 2-8 finish. It can't be both ways.

Uhhhm, Yes. Vince Young's success has been completely reliant on Chris Johnson, if he had the Bronco's running game it would be a disaster.

Orton has been criticized for some of his throws but that and his decision making are much better than what Young is doing with the Titans.

Look, i'm no Vince Young fan, I think he has massive flaws, but you'd be out of your mind to take a scrub like Kyle Orton over Young. At least with Young, you have some dynamic playmaking ability and some upside. Orton has pretty much topped out as a player, we know what he is, and it just isnt very good. No team is winning big with Kyle Orton. Stop fooling yourself.

I agree. Young still hasn't reached his full potential imo while Orton is pretty much "what you see is what you get"

I don't think Vince Young could run Josh McDaniel's offense, so there is no way I'd take Young over Orton. I'm with GoblinSlayer on this one. Young was a great college QB, but when it's all said and done I'm sure Orton will have had the better career. No question who is the better athlete and has more "potential," but Orton's a leader and an actual QB.
