You can sign minimums above the soft cap as much as you want. The problem really stems that most minimum contract guys are pretty terrible.

LBJ has to know going to Miami and winning a championship wouldn't mean as much or garner the same type of respect as winning in Cleveland or going to NY or Chicago. Regardless of what happens or whether it has merit or not the impression of going to Miami is that he will going to a stacked team. IMO for LBJ's and to a lesser extent Wade and Bosh's legacy this would be a pretty cheap way to win a championship.

I just don't like the idea of these guys getting together and going to one team to win multiple championships. Its be bad for the league, because teams will have to to do something to contend with Miami and the only way to do that is to clear cap space by gutting the team and hoping to land the top free agents. I don't like this current trend of star FA players teaming up or waiting to go elsewhere, because it just cheapens the league.

I don't mind 2 going to one place, as theyre just getting the second player they can rely on that they always wanted in their careers.

Nah its just that I think Kobe and Jordan were at the end of the day, all about winning titles. I think at the end of the day, LeBron is all about building the LeBron brand rather than winning.

I'm not saying LeBron wouldn't like to win a title, but I think at least at this point in his career, he's more concerned with building up his brand.
