Willie Parker carrying guys and breaking tackles like Brandon Jackson is teh gay. That was the thing that bothered the shit out of me last year, seeing guys like Chris and Brian Westbrook break tackle after tackle and carrying guys.

It's April, the game won't go gold untill early August, this is an EARLY build of the game so no need to jizz your pants over how amazing it looks or damn the franchise for how shitty it looks. The game is FAR from complete this is just a little taste of what they have so far.

-Suction blocking still exists.
-Noticed Limas Sweed pushing the pile forward as 3 guys attempted to tackle Parker.
-CB's still do that stupid full body turn when a reciever gets past them.
-Line play looked more fluid.
-Looked like guys slowed down once one or two tacklers got in contact with the offensive player. Saw this happen twice on Parker runs. You could see guys doing the slow down animation then doing a full sprint animation right after Parker broke through.

Still a bit disappointed in the running animations. When someone breaks free they still revert to that stagnant sprint animation that we've seen for years.

Do really like to see receivers and corners looking for the ball while it's in the air. No more cases of running forward and then catching a bullet pass over your shoulder without ever turning around to look for the ball.

Thats actually one of the things that really impressed me. If you look at the video, Santonio Holmes at the beginning and Larry Fitzgerald at the end turn around looking for the pass the entire time when they were running deep. That would be the Procedural Awareness at work.

Well from this the new OL/DL interaction is a lot better, and so is the WR/DB interaction. Like i said in the previous post we are able to see the Procedural Awareness from the WR. Also the tackling is a lot better. They were also able to show off the refs, hand towels and other visual things like that. A lot of features we didn't really get to see though. The trailer was nice but i think what would be a lot better is to get the Thompson brothers to play a game and post it on youtube. That would give us a great opportunity to see how almost all these new features play out and on a couple different occasions.

btw Ian has said that the Running game needs to tuning. As you can see from the several tackles edgerrin james and especially the broken gang tackle from Willie Parker.

Just saw the trailer on Spike's site. The game actually looks beautiful graphics wise. I am hoping all these graphical additions aren't slowing down the framerate or transitions in between plays and play call screen and the menus.

Is this game finally 1080p this year?

The last couple of years, it was annoying to manage a franchise, because it would take forever to bring up a players stats/ratings, switch in between franchise menu was too slow etc.

I would hope for online franchise, but I think Cummings said that they won't have it back in Nov/Dec.

I will still rent before buying.

I have to disagree. I've never seen any early gameplay footage that once the game was released looked leaps above what I saw. These graphics are pretty damn close to what we'll see in August, I can almost bet anything on that. And that's definitely not a good thing.

As far as animations are concerned you may be right. But I don't think the goofy gang tackle animations or some of the other things we've seen in this video will be changed.

I was hyped up real bad about Madden until I saw this. I'm not sure what to think now.

In previous years they didn't release the trailer this early. When they gave us the demo in august about a week before the game came out it was a build from april and the game itself was leaps above the demo. You can't compare previous years trailers to this years by saying that. Last year the trailers started to come out in June and July.

you guys look for the negatives too much. I've never seen people so nitpicky over a game. yes i know the excuse i don't want to waste my 60 dollars is going to get thrown at me, but honestly you guys head into this thread with your mind already made up that EA is going to let you down and the game isn't so good. Take it for what it is, a trailer in April, and try to enjoy the game rather than harping on errors.
