OK ... now I can speak from personal experience here. I am an editor working for a company whose decisions I don't always agree with (Ok, I rarely agree with), but I need my fucking job to pay my mortgage, so I just play along.
Yeah, it sucks, but it is what it is. My newspaper chain is hardcore conservative ... and clearly I am not ... but I need to pay the bills.
In a perfect world, I could tell them to go fuck themselves, but it's not a perfect world so I just do my job.
Same for the Madden developers - they know their game is far from perfect and they're working to improve bad code, but they have a job and are doing what they can.

Most people in the working world will tell you life isn't perfect and you have to compromise. If you're 16, I understand why you think otherwise.

None of this applies to EA football games. Every year the devs are the main ones going out hyping the game in blogs, interviews, message boards, videos etc. They wanna be hypemen, then they need to realize the heat is coming back on them if the game falls short.

And all of the finger pointing gets old. Oh it's the suits fault! Oh marketing is the reason the game isn't good. Oh it was Chads fault but he's gone, now that we have Frank this games gonna be amazing he's such a great person! Doesn't matter, skip all that just make a good game.

The QB wasn't Luck either.

WTF?! You gotta be kidding. I did not just save 8 seasons of draft classes for this garbage. I've been excited about exporting draft classes in franchise mode as I haven't done so since Madden 06 (ps2) when I drafted Reggie Bush onto my 49ers team.

They've had awful draft logic for years and they don't fix it at all. Its never been fixed. Always the same shit.

How hard is it to just have players important with the same attributes they have in the damn game.

Odd. Padre did some sims and felt like the "Player Profiles" or whatever prevented them from doing so. In Padre's Weeden went like #1 or #2 overall and Luck was in the top 5.

I don't mind it not being luck because depending on what happened in the NCAA universe maybe Weeden comes on and overtakes Luck. I think in Padre's Weeden won the Heisman etc.

I don't see how hard it is for them to create a formula that makes the CPU keep younger players with decent ratings.

Even something as simple as 1-2-3 year players get +5 ovr to the CPU's "What OVR is this position, should I get a new player in this position" equation.

Like....Cam Newton would be a what say 78 by seasons end, the cpu calculates the team needs at position and then since he's a 1 year experience player it 'considers' his ovr to be 83 or something like that.

Then creating caps where they would never consider, a random algorithm for "maybe consider" and one for absolutely not.

I.e. = 90+ ovr player in that positon probably not, 75+ ovr position "maybe" like a 1:10 chance of them drafting, and 75 and below, considered fair game

Ok, so I read that pastapadre review of franchise, specifically the draft. I'm a little upset that he didn't include the OVR ratings, but it's all good...I'll get them in two days.

Looking at it, I think the draft logic is much better than in years past. The Seahawks, Dolphins, 49ers, Bills, and Redskins took quarterbacks in the first two rounds. All of those teams have questions at the position, so that's really awesome. HOWEVER, the punter going 10th, and the two kickers going in the 2nd is completely ridiculous. But I see this as one flaw in an otherwise much improved system that can hopefully be patched by de-valuing the kickers/punters.

When I imported a draft class the player names were changed :ionno:. Gonna try again in a new franchise.

Im gonna start playing AM only and try to avoid AP at all cost.

Sorry but this whole CPU helps u out, no it stops sht like MFers who only throw high and into traffic from catching.

Also Bradford is fucking horrible at passes past 20 yrds.

When playing H2H, i cant see how AM isnt the clear choice.

I'm watching a guy scout right now.

All the rookies come in with "real" faces. They're generated by the game not the actual player. Which one they get changes everytime, but so far all the black players are black...all white players white.

LOL ...yeah guys always say they are having fun with the game after they win.....anyway, it takes some players longer then others to get the feel of the game. The older I get the longer it takes me. So it's really just fun learning on all sides in the beginning.

I'm with you Wrath. Takes a few weeks to get used to the game and figure out what works. Already excited for it.

I like it so far, seen a few little glitches or suctions here or there, but for the most part feels good. Dynamic player ratings really affect some players, I like how it works, and you can see it reflected on the field. Seems like QBs fumble alot, but i've also been playing guys who run with their QBs alot, so that may be the reason for that.

Also 5-1 so far :smug:

2-1 vs PB, but he whooped my ass that one game he won, by like 30 points or something :facepalm:
