I really don't see how anyone can hate Bonds for steroid use any more. Everyone was using them, EVERYONE. This is incredible how many of the big time players are coming out as PED users. I think the MLB is banking on Pujols, if he comes up dirty, the game's credibility is done.

How would that make Ortiz look like a douche? Because he didnt hold a press conference an hour before the game when the reports came out. I hope he does address the issue after the game or tomorrow but definitely not an hour before the game. And if its because he said before that he never did PEDs then I guess that makes every PED user is a douche because I am pretty sure they would all deny it before they got caught.

and as for the no comment, It was about an hour before game time that I highly doubt anyone would hold a press conference that soon before the game. And there are reports at Fenway that he will hold a press conference or something after the game.

Steroids have been banned from baseball since 1991. There just wasnt proper testing for it.

As for the list, it has to be a Union and MLB decision to release them. Although both parties probably want to just get it over with, there are about 90+ names on that list that don't want this list out. As such, they could easily sue once the list is out for lost wages, damages, and etc. because the test was said to be confidential and anonymous. The Union and MLB would promptly lose all of those cases because they clearly would have gone against the parameters of the test.

This is going to be a tough one. Do they come out with the list and take the big loss in court? Do they let it slowly leak out and take a big hit every other month or so? Either way, it is going to be interesting for a couple months.

I lost a lot of respect for him because of it. Shame, because he actually seemed to be a likable guy. But throwing someone under the bus for something you yourself did is shameless. I agree with the bolded part but that could be for every player that has tested positive, Arod lied about using PEDs in an interview the year before as did Bonds, Sosa, Mcwire....the list could go on.

I'm really having trouble understanding your point here. How does it NOT make him a douche if he's blatantly lying and trying to divert attention or suspicions from himself? He was asked a question surrounding the Arod allegations, and instead of saying "No comment" then, he elects to grandstand knowing full way that he's just as guilty.

If you found out a friend of yours was nailing some other dude's wife, and you ask another friend "Would you ever do that?" and he was like, "No way, I could never be friends with someone who did that" and you found out later that he was nailing YOUR wife, would you be as apologetic for your friend as you are being for Ortiz?

It's not a direct analogy obviously, but the point is, he's a douche.
