What a stupid fucking ending. How hard is it to wrap the game up, I mean really. It was a fun ride with great characters, story (til the end), and gameplay. To close it out that way made little sense and made all your actions basically pointless.

 

In the end none of my choices really mattered. I thought they were all going to lead up to one big choice and based on my previous actions certain options would be available to me. Instead it was determined by some bullshit readiness rating that I have to play multi player to get up. I don't have a problem with Shepard dying, I just didn't like that its destroy the reapers but they'll come back, or control them and they'll listen to you, but they're still around at the end of the day.

I didn't like how supernatural it got at the end with the kid either. Thats the go to cop out for anything that can't come up with a decent ending. I don't like the indoctrination theory idea either because it doesn't really fit with the game that well. If throughout the series, you had run ins or hints that the reapers wanted to control you, sure thats fine. Except you didn't. So to throw that in at the end of the game makes little sense. I also wished the wrap up with the characters would've been better. Like an extended sequence showing the characters from ME2 fighting or something.

I'm a little less angry now. The ending was still disappointing and just in general doesn't fit with the series, but it was more about the journey I guess. Everything in the game up until the last 5 minutes was excellent.

Have you read the indoctrination theory stuff? It's so good and so well supported in the game that even if it wasn't Bioware's original intention, I would run with it in whatever this "clarification" DLC is going to be.

This kind of bugged me too, but then I took into consideration how well they integrated past characters and how hard that must have been with all of the possible outcomes, that I let it go. Although some characters definitely got better treatment than others. My Miranda romance was a little...underwhelming.

I have and I don't like it. It sort of fits but people are working hard to make it fit. I honestly thought the choice would be something like this:

 

The crucible acts as a beacon to the Reapars and draws all of them to Earth. You then have the choice to either fight them head on and use the Citadel as some sort of bomb and hopefully defeat them, or to use the Sun itself as a weapon and annihilate everything there. So say if you have a higher paragon and high EMS rating, you could do the blow up the Citadel option and it would work. Thus you and Reapares die, but everyone else gets to live. Its a risk though because if the combination of ratings isn't high enough, then you fail and everyone dies. Or you blow the Sun up and annihilate our entire solar system taking out the Reapers and your allies alike. It ensures they never come back but the cost is massive. You've just killed everyone you've interacted with in the series and its still about your decision in the end.

To me that ending makes a good combination of risk and trying to get the best of both or making the tough call to ensure it ends for good.

It honestly should have been the ending and the whole entire 3 choice BS should have not even been an option. Shepard should have thrown that stupid shit right back in the kid's face because NONE of those 3 choices make sense. I was actually getting more and more pissed off just by reading through that final scene's script again, up until it got to the point where the person changed it.

At which point I started to get chills. We deserved to see an EPIC cut scene of ALL of our war assets fighting/beating the reapers. If we have 100% readiness and we have 5,000+ assets we should be rewarded with the most epic kick ass badass cut scene this series has ever put together and has been leading up to for the past 3 games. Let us see Jack, who if you've made the right choices has one of the best character arcs in the series, let us see her with her students on Earth. Let's see Miranda leading soldiers in an attack, Zaeed curb stomping a banshee, Samara taking out a dozen cannibals. Let's have everything the person wrote about in the link with Tali leading a group of Geth Primes, Garrus and Wrex doing work together as brothers in arms, Grunt bitch slapping a brute, SHOW the Destiny Ascension blowing up reaper ships, GIVE US THE BATTLE WE'VE BEEN PLAYING FOR

It's been awhile since I've beaten it and I haven't beat it a second time yet because I've only been playing multiplayer lately. But the fact that the war assets and everything after the beam hits you is completely ignored is just fucking lame. All of the endings are exactly the same (BUT TEH COLORS IZ DIFFERENT!!11) At this point the indoctrination is really the only way Bioware can salvage what they've done with the ending. And the more I actually think about that the more pissed off I become. :smh:

It wouldn't have been that difficult. Just a few extra scenes of everyone fighting in different areas. Check the link I posted in my spoiler a few posts up. The guy there does a great job detailing out some of the stuff the characters could have been doing, plus gives a better ending.

Yeah now I'm pissed again too. I don't want anything to do with DLC if there just going to play on the stupid choices they gave us.

Also the indoctrination theory goes out the window with the little clip of the man and the boy at the end that you get.

 

Whatever Shepard chooses, Synthesis, Control or Destory. All ends up well however far in the future that is. It doesn't matter what you pick so long as your EMS is high enough. You win, the Reapers lose. No matter what (barring your EMS being shit).

Man, I totally disagree about the indoctrination theory. There is very little about it that seems like people are trying to make it work. Particularly when you start to delve into a lot of the codex. Too much about the kid, the ending, everything, just doesn't add up in the context of the whole series. As I've said before, the only way to fix this would be the indoctrination theory. Otherwise, the ending just doesn't make sense. I like the ending in that link, but they aren't going to "change" the ending, it would be too hard to do. So if they work within the context of what they have, I think they can pull it off and give it some closure. If they don't go the indoctrination route, then it just becomes a fantasy ending which would be insane considering how rooted in actual science the game is (I also think without indoctrination this ending would make the Bioware Doctors vomit).

We shall see. I too wish the ending were better, but as it is, it doesn't harm my overall feelings for the game or series. While I still think that ME2 is the best, this is a close 2nd for me.
