But why does it show Amateur in the controller settings when I have the season set to Pro? I can't imagine the CPU is actually on Amateur for anything. They have been hitting the ball like mad and consistently make diving stops and double plays.

And this game has rain?!? I just used Fast Game to simulate and saw it was raining. Crazy.

Ok this can get a little confusing,,,lol. I just erased what I typed because it didn't make sense, I'll try again. This is not 100% correct, but it's my best guess and it works.

-What works for me is making your changes to settings within a game you started. You only have 4 bare bones options for the CPU in calendar screen but we aren't going to use those.

-Start a game, right after warmup, press pause, go into "controller setup". You need to do this because you cannot access the CPU team from the pre-game lineup screen. (season mode you can't but Exhbition mode you can, that's why we start the game then pause).

-When your team comes up in the controller setup, ALL THOSE OPTIONS are for your team. EVEN THOUGH YOU SEE CPU skill level there, that is just IF you have the setting set to AUTO, it will then insert that CPU skill level to that setting. It probably should be grayed out if manual I'm guessing.(My best guess here, but I think it's gotta be this)

-THE CPU team controller setup, that is ALL THE CPU settings. Change the skill level there, everything there is all CPU. After the game, check the main team screen with the calendar, and see if your settings took there. For some reason they seem to work only within the game. This should apply your changes to all CPU games for the future

Rain is cool at first, but can be hella annoying and challenging! But those conditions are annoying in real life too to play in.

Playing my first online game. The lag is horrendous but somehow it's still playable. It's like playing in slow motion.

Edit: It may have something to do with the fact that the guy I was playing was from Japan. Huge shock he used the Yankees and crushed me.

Nope, once you set it once for the CPU team, thats the new settings for all games. Of course unless you to need switch it again.

So...after logging a fair amount of time in this game...I still fucking hate it.

Don't get me wrong, it can be fun as shit with other people (couch) and I haven't played online, but playing vs. the CPU is just fucking retarded. The system is too gd dumb to really enjoy the game. What usually ends up happening is I win most games by a lot, and only really get mad when the fielding/lack of being able to switch fielders fucks me in the ass (which happens a lot). I can't really describe it. It's fun and like RBI, but it's like after all of these years they purposefully make things ancient and stupid.

I still love it. I still need to find the perfect settings because it seems I kick the CPU's ass but when I switch them back to Pro hitting the destroy me. I think I finally need to get rid of the strike zone and other helpers.

I finally hit the 100 strike out cheevo. I can't imagine how long it's going to take until I hit 100 homers. They should've made that 50. I think I'm near 50 playing in my season.

I was so pissed about another cheevo I missed on. There is one for hitting for the cycle. I finally hit my first triple with Markakais. Yes, after playing over 20 games I hit my FIRST triple. Then, without realizing, he hit a double in his second at bat. His third at bat I crush a homer and I'm thinking "Oh shit, I'm going to do this." I somehow manage to squeak out two more at bats with him, with the second being the last out of the game. And you guessed it, 0-for-2. I couldn't get the easiest part of the fucking cycle.issed:

My first two that I hit in my season hit the right pole as I was getting used to the speed again (both by Utley where I was WAAAAY late with my swing). 90% of the time though I just hit it foul, now because I'm swinging too early.

Another weird, super nerdy fun fact about me, is that both of my arms were sore after a 5 hours Bobblehead marathon because I was pushing down on the "A" button so hard when I would swing (I realize that there is no analog sensitivity, but it took me forever to train myself not to put literally every ounce of my strength into my button pressing). It was pretty embarrassing.

Hahaha, nice! Glad to see hitting the pole is still in there. The Old PPs games it would do a small cutscene to behind the batter view and watching the ball if it goes fair or foul, have you seen that yet? I haven't seen either the pole or that. I'm guessing they left that out though.

I'm trying not to play that much, I don't want to get the feel for this game alot before I start a season. I'm waiting on the Edit player feature from the bobblebead battle, so I can go into Arrange Mode and create teams based on the rosters and edit the changes I need to. I want to start a season with reasonably close rosters. I spent so many hours trying to update the rosters on the old PowerPros game, then it just got too impossible, so i'm glad a new version came out.

I know it's probably stupid, but I wish they still had the throw the ball in the crowd after the third out from the corner field positions.

Nah, I'm actually not a fan of MLB at all but I do still love the sport of baseball. And as far as baseball is concerned if I had to pick a team it would be my hometown team, the O's.

There is a free DLC updated roster you can download today. Has all the important trade deadline deals and added some rookies. Nice.

There is also a new Bobblehead Battle Mode that is out for 800 pts. Kind of a high price for a hitting target game I think? But it is supposed to unlock the edit player mode??? Don't know too much more than that.
