LOS ANGELES, CA-- Manny Ramirez is back. Manny is being Manny again this year and after reupping in the middle of Spring Training with the Dodgers he is paying back the team for waiting on him to ponder his options with league best totals in Home Runs and RBIs for the Division leading Dodgers (36-15). Ramirez has been helped by rookie pitcher Clayton Kershaw who has not given up a run in his two starts this season.

"I'm happy man." Ramirez said after a recent game versus Arizona in which he hit a home run and earned 5 RBIs," We are having success early and I think we can win the title this year. With Manny at the helm it's a lock."

Whether or not the Dodgers win the World Series this year is up in the air after only 51 games but something that is guaranteed is that Manny Ramirez is back.

Strasburg picked first overall, Jays get two

NEW YORK, NY -- There was never any doubt, two years to the day, Stephen Strasburg was guaranteed to become the 1st overall pick of the 2009 MLB first year players draft curtosy of the 102 MP/H fastball that preceeds him. The real question of the draft was who would go after the 6'4" San Diego State pitcher whom the Washington Nationals took first overall thanks to that famous fastball.

The Toronto Blue Jays, them of the recent late May breakout, arguably had the best draft of all -- yes better then the Nationals -- after picking up two potential stars in the first round. With the 18th overall pick the Jays picked Long Beach State 2B Wesley Toth who is considered a Dustin Pedroia type defensively and offensively.

'We think Toth has great potential and I could see him making his debut as early as September of next year." Jays GM J.P. Riccardi said of the 6'2" 210 pounder.

The Jays' next pick would be the second of the compensatory round after the first round in which they took little known Panamian Carlos Mencia, a 6'5" wunderkind at first base who has 30/100 potential. Mencia's stock plummeted after he failed two random drug tests while at the under 20 championships in the Netherlands last year.

"We're real happy to have Carlos as well, we see him in the mould of Alex [Rios, Jays RF]." Riccardi said.

The last two Jays' picks, in the third and fourth rounds respectively, were 3B Donald Woods -- an Oklahoma State product -- and LF Sunny Eldred, out of Florida State.

"We think we had a terrific draft this year and in the later rounds we got two real good players in Woods and Eldred who could start in the Major Leagues at some point, we're real happy right now."
