If Dallas can score I can see them winning, because I don't see Miami being able to score enough to keep up. It comes down to which team's style can dominate the series. If its up and down, fast paced Dallas wins. If Miami can put the defensive clamps down and make it a grind it out series Miami wins.

Sure Dallas just ousted one of the best offenses in basketball, but Miami's defense has been stifling thus far. Both teams are shooting well, both teams are dishing the ball well and, both teams are making there free throws.

I give Miami the slight edge, because there defense has been great thus far in the playoffs (IMO).

In order for Dallas to win this series, I personally think they will need to keep up the 100+ scoring nights on a superior Miami defense (superior to Oklahoma's).

I see a lot of these games coming down to free throws in the final minutes because of how close the teams are. If that is the case, I fully expect Wade and James to be able to get to the line much more frequently than Dirk and Terry (who I guess would be Dallas' 2nd best threat offensively). I do not expect Miami to be giving away games like OKC did with turnovers.

Yeah, we forgot that as great as Dirk is he's the only elite player they have. The rest of the roster is a bunch of 3rd/4th offensive options who rely on Dirk to get open shots. Miami has the two best players in the league and a top 5 PF....For Dallas to win their bench has to show up every game.

I noticed LBJ was guarding Terry down the stretch which means he won't be doing much either.

The bench did absolutely nothing last night, that definitely has to change in Game 2.

Dallas has a shot in this series as long as they can take game 2 but I am concerned for the Mavericks chances now that Dirk tore a tendon on his left hand in the game. If he can't handle the ball cleanly to get off his shots, the series might be deja vu from the last time these teams met in the finals.

Game for game, yes...lol I was thinking more along the lines of the Mavs losing 4-2 to the Heat at the end of the series.

Dirk's 30-45 points will not beat the Heat, I say fuck him and just lock down the shooters that he will be kicking it to on the perimeter.... we will see how it plays out tho

The focus was real heavy on closing out the perimeter shooting and it worked pretty well, but plenty of room for improvement

Like I said before the bench needs to do a better job next game. They had plenty of good looks and missed (Peja :smh. No need to panic though, they doing okay for majority of the game but fell apart at the end.

i am personally embarrassed for Bosh, his defense on Dirk on the last play was atrocious. with the home came format in the Finals being the way it is, this is exactly what the Mavs needed to take control of the series.

Relying on threes is like fool's gold. I don't know why they went soft and didn't attack the basket. It's like they weren't interested in making plays, but just holding on.

For Dallas, get two out of three at home, and they'll be in great shape going back to Miami.
