This is where the Finals format is all wrong... if the road team splits, which usually it SHOULD, seeing as they are each the best teams in their respective conferences.... they go home 1-1 with 3 STRAIGHT home games... horrible format, but this needs to light a fire under the Heat's asses, they outplayed the Mavs basically 91 of the 96 minutes they have played so far... makes it interesting, but I still think the Heat will take this and come back very strong game 3 and put pressure back on the Mavs

If the Heat were 2-0 I would still be hating that we have to go to Dallas for 3 straight, if format holds form and the home team wins that means we come back home for 2 more games down 3-2, momentum on Dallas' side. Should we refer to the '06 Finals to show how BIG that home game swing can be? Same thing very easily could of happened to any team, playoff format is fine how it is, while it's not always a factor like it was '06 it still shouldn't be different for the Finals then it is for the rest of the playoffs, the Finals essentially nullify home court advantage because it rarely goes to 7 games, so the team with home court gets 3 games at home, one of which is after a 3 game swing that can take place in the other team's house.

That was my immediate thought...for all the hype, the NBA playoffs this year has been unwatchable. Miami is a terrible "ambassador" for basketball. The only series I enjoyed has been Oklahoma City vs. Memphis. The rest have been garbage.

In 26 years of 2-3-2 Finals, 15 teams with the middle three games at home have won at least two of the three. But only two have won all three: the 2004 Detroit Pistons and the 2006 Heat. They're the only lower seeds to win The Finals in the last 12 years.

I think it's been a pretty awesome NBA playoffs. OKC/Memphis was great. Dallas/OKC was fun. Even some of the first round series were pretty cool. Bulls/Pacers and Bulls/Hawks were very entertaining series.
I do agree though, I thought I'd "love to hate" Miami and I don't. I just hate them. They are annoying. I'll always be a huge NBA fan but I can absolutely see my love of it being reduced greatly if they are truly dominant for years to come. They are very annoying and frustrating to watch.
Yeah that's what it is. I went into the season thinking they were going to be that team you love to hate, but they aren't... I just hate them. They are whiny, annoying assholes, their fans are fucking annoying, their bench players are all a bunch of fuckwads. There's nothing FUN about them.
