I understand the small-market teams lose money, i didnt say otherwise. But the overall interest in the league grows. If they had a revenue sharing model, the small market teams could reap the benefits.



I never said the NFL model doesnt work for the NFL, I said it wouldnt work for the NBA.



Nobody cared about the Raptors when they had Chris Bosh. Nobody cared about the Hornets with Chris Paul. Now you put Bosh on the Heat and Paul on the Lakers paired with other superstars, suddenly casual fans are very interested. Fans like to see stars paired with other stars, and like to see elite teams.

So you are advocating a league where like a half dozen teams matter, for the sake of increased fan interest in a half dozen teams, while 20 teams dangle in the wind and cant sell a ticket?

Not sure how you can argue increased fan interest when the owners basically were about to shut down the entire season based on the premise of not enough fan interest in 2/3 of the teams.

The league isnt healthy because the system is broken, and the lockout fixed nothing. Kn fact, now its worse with the Paul debacle.

LOL at turning down possibly the 1st overall pick, Eric Gordon and Aminu plus Kaman's 12 million comes off the books after ths year. Even bigger LOL at expecting to get Eric Bledsoe in that deal too. The Hornets really are going to be fucked in the summer when CP3 leaves town and they watch the Clippers pick first in the draft.

Lol @ the massive amounts of backwards logic that has gone into all the decisions the league has made over the last few days. Yeah lets call it a conflict of interest to move the best player on the team, thus pretty much demanding a kings ransom, all because they want fans to buy tickets and want the team to be in a better position to be able to sell to potential buyers. As if complete and utter turmoil and no guidance are appealing to either the fans or a potential owner. Just downright absurd had this is being handled.

That 2012 draft pick is a first rounder. Plus Bledsoe and Aminu who are a comined aged of 43. Kaman is fully healthy and in his last healthy season he made the All-Star game and averaged a block and a half per game. That should be more than enough to build around in New Orleans. To ask for Eric Gordon on top of all that is ludicrous.

Gordon, Aminu, Bledsoe, Kaman were all first round choices. What fuckin world do you live in that a star point guard is not with four 1st-round selections? You need FIVE?! Jesus Christ. And those pieces are not a huge cap hit besides Kaman and he comes off the books this year. The 2012 draft is supposed to be a deep one, too.

I don't understand how the Clippers' offer of Aminu, Bledsoe, Kaman, and the 2012 first round (almost assuredly a lottery pick) from Minnesota isn't a fair trade for CP3.

Why doesn't Stern just ask for Staples Center to be included in the deal so that the Hornets can be "big market" too. (Come on, do the Clippers really count as large-market?)

That is more than fair. If I was the hornets, why wouldn't I want a young duo of Aminu and Bledsoe who could come in and start, Kaman who can be used as a trade chip, plus a top 5 pick in a very deep draft next year.

In fucking sane. Gordon is good yea, but don't forget he's injury prone plus becomes a free agent in a 2 years I think.

At this point I bet Chis Paul would welcome playing in Orlando with Howard and Howard would welcome Paul. Orlando has the potential to be a good market that players would want to play in (see the McGrady/Hill FA signings several years ago), but they have to make the right moves.
