Its my understanding that Crawford sometimes plays PG, so he fits into the program.

Much like signing Berea I don't understand why Minnesota would add Crawford.....he's a good player, but in their situation I fail to see how he makes them better. Throwing a lot of money at these two guys is foolishness. Crawford/Barea are better suited coming off the bench and scoring on a championship caliber team......not key chuckers/scorers on a bad team. However, they're throwing a lot of money at them, so what are they supposed to do? Meh..

I have a feeling that Howard would stay if they brought someone in........this entire offseason he's been going back and forth with wanting to stay or leave. Howard is one of those guys that doesn't like to be hated and that could work into Orlando's favor. I'd be willing to bet if Paul was traded to Orlando with Dwight Howard the both of them would stay. However, I understand your point, but if they lose Howard they aren't going to get anything in return that they can build around. They have to understand that in order to progress into an elite franchise they have to take chances.

Would you risk your neck? From the looks of it, by signing players like Jason Richardson on 4 year deals, getting Big Baby a 4 year deal, it looks like management is content to a bad team as long as they have a job.

But I understand your point, whats a better way to get 2 superstars who want to leave their teams to be happy? I can't think of one. Get them both on the same team. A Paul-Howard lead defense and offense is championship worthy.

Ya, the Warriors basically probably compared Kwame Brown's stats last year to DeAndre Jordan's, which are very similiar. The W's saved 3 million, and only locked in 1 year. I'd honestly rather do that, then be stuck with Jordan 4 years if he doesn't pan out.

I wouldn't have done either acquisition, but they seemed desperate for another big man in the mix.

Gary Forbes has officially signed with the Raptors, reportedly a three-year deal with the third year being a team option.
The Raptors apparently paid Forbes "double what Denver offered," but exact dollar amounts aren't known. He has real potential in Toronto, especially with Linas Kleiza still rehabbing from knee surgery. Don't reach for him in fantasy drafts, but consider him a clever sleeper pick in deep leagues.

Decent signing. This might have forced Denver's trade with Dallas further down.

The Lakers have signed big man Josh McRoberts to a two-year contract believed to be worth $6.2 million.
That sum represents the Lakers' entire "mini mid-level exception." McBob figures to fill the void left by Lamar Odom's departure, as well as Derrick Caracter's severe knee injury -- L.A. doesn't have a very deep frontcourt at the moment, so he could play significant minutes and is worth watching closely in fantasy leagues.

Can anyone explain why he was such a hot commodity? Did he get better last year? All i remember of him is being a bench player.

The Mavericks and Nuggets have completed a trade that sends Rudy Fernandez and Corey Brewer to Denver for a future second-round pick.
Fernandez was reportedly unhappy in Dallas after the Mavs traded for Vince Carter, Delonte West and Lamar Odom -- he and Brewer give the Nuggets much-needed depth on the wings, but it's possible Rudy wants a buyout so he can return to Spain. The Mavericks are less interested in the second-round pick than the cap space they've cleared for next summer.

Great value for Denver, great cap saving for Dallas. Denver needed the bodies at sg/sf.

Free Agent G Jamal Crawford has reportedly turned down a two-year offer from the Pacers.
Where Crawford lands now in anyone's guess, but the Timberwolves could be the favorite at this point, with the Knicks and Blazers still in the hunt.

God I hope he comes to New York. We don't necessarily "need" him, but we can use all the talent we can get. If McRoberts can get 3.1 mil a year, Crawford would be a steal for 2.5. Sadly, I see him going to Minny where they already have like 5 guards.

I'd like to have Crawford back in NY but I'm doubtful he takes a big pay cut to return (Knicks can only offer $2.5M for 2 years).

Also hopeful Shawne Williams returns for less than what he can get on the open market. Good shooter and good perimeter defense.

McRobert's TS% and rebounding rates were excellent next year. I'm glad the Bucks got LRMaM for such a reasonable price but I really would have liked McRoberts.

Bulls Rumors: How Richard Hamilton Will Help Chicago on NBA Title Quest

Barring an unforeseen waiver claim, Richard "Rip" Hamilton will be a member of the Chicago Bulls.

Multiple media outlets, including K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, have reported that with Hamilton's buyout with the Detroit Pistons official, the stage has been set for the Chicago Bulls to sign the veteran shooting guard to a two-year, $10 million deal.

This move brings the Chicago Bulls a step closer to an NBA Championship in 2012.

Hamilton is a significant upgrade over Keith Bogans and whether starting or coming off the bench, he will improve the Chicago Bulls shooting guard position tremendously.

Marc Stein (ESPN) and his sources say the Blazers are part of a potential 4-team deal that could send Howard to Jersey.

They would send Gerald Wallace to ORL and get back draft picks while ORL would also get Brook Lopez and draft picks....NJ would get DH, Hedoglu and Chris Duhon.

Haven't read anything about who the 4th team may be.
