I could see the Clippers using their exception on a player like Redd. A guy that doesn't need the ball a ton and shoots the ball well from deep. Obvious injury concerns, but it's still a low risk situation.

Why do people always praise Durant for signing an extension.........Durant hasn't done anything LeBron, Paul, Howard, Anthony, etc didn't do. Much like aother superstars Durant signed his first extension once he completed his rookie contract.....let's see what he does in 5 years.

I think with KD it's because he did it in OKC, which is not a huge market. It helps that OKC has some good talent around him.

So you are advocating a league where like a half dozen teams matter, for the sake of increased fan interest in a half dozen teams, while 20 teams dangle in the wind and cant sell a ticket?

Not sure how you can argue increased fan interest when the owners basically were about to shut down the entire season based on the premise of not enough fan interest in 2/3 of the teams.

The league isnt healthy because the system is broken, and the lockout fixed nothing. Kn fact, now its worse with the Paul debacle.

Sorry i missed this. Your point is completely valid. I didnt even have a point really, was just making an observation that the league interest grew alot last year because of LeBron going to Miami. Doesnt mean its a sound model for the league.

Los Angeles radio host John Ireland said on the air Monday that a reliable source of his says the Nets will execute a trade for Dwight Howard on Tuesday.

Ireland points out that his source correctly reported the LeBron James and Chris Bosh to Miami deal last year, and for what it's worth Ireland is well-connected within the Lakers scene and thus is within arm's distance of the trade action. This could mean that Brook Lopez is heading to Orlando, but then again we'll need to see where all of this goes.
