NCAA 11 Impressions

I fumble way to fucking much. I've done 3 GB's for this game and I swear, I've fumbled at least 15 times. Every game I've done, I'll be marching on these guys in my first possession and the boom, I fumble. They score because my defense is shit and they beat me by one possession. I'm 1-2 and the two losses came by one possession. It's bullshit.

Also, the PA glitch only seems to do it with one play. The PA HB Screen when your outside reciever goes deep...

Wrong... had it happen on at least 5 different PA plays out of the ace formation and a few on I and the I-strong/weak forms as well.. It is not only happening on screens.. I'm going to play a game in a minute and run every play action in my playbook and document each one it happens on.. it's fucking rediculous that a bug like this would go to retail..

PA really fucking sucks in this game. I cant run any PA at all. I either get sacked or hit as i throw for an incomplete. Its just terrible. I am so sick of my linemen not being able to block on blitz plays. I have 2 back in to block plus my 5 linemen and against a 4 man rush and 1 blitzing LB i get sacked because one of my dickhead guys just lets him run right by.

i tried to play marshall and there horrible C+ rated defense against my A+ offense of OSU and they sacked me 5 times in the 1st half. Of course my defense gets 0 sacks because anytime i am close robo QB throws it b4 i get to him.

i should really have my head examined for convincing myself this game is worth trying to play

For the people having issues generating pass rush, try running the 3-4. I do with ND and notice a good deal of pressure since you bring a LB everytime.

Ive yet to run a PA in this game, mainly because it lacks in NDs playbook, and I am afraid of the glitch. But when I run it in practice mode, it seemed like the side i playactioned to would always have a LB there blitzin. So I just dont call PAs anymore since its a wreck.

I'm still amazed that EA would let something with such obvious flaws make it out the door. I'm not talking about, little things, but major programming errors. What the fuck EA?

It's one thing to disagree or be disappointed with the way some of the nuances of the game are implemented. But to have this PA glitch that was obviously found prior to release is complete horseshit.

I'm glad I didn't buy this crap.

All but one of my games, so far, have been decided in the 4th quarter. Kinda cool that the CPU is actually competing for a change. Using Playmaker's sliders and I just lost to Oregon 24-21 running the flexbone with Georgia Tech. Was my first lost and I deserved to. I need to be better about reacting to my reads rather than predicting them.

I would say it's easily the best football on next gen so far. It is too soon to tell if it's better than Ncaa 2004 or Ncaa 06 yet.

yea.. despite the PA glitch this is the best NCAA football i've played in a long time.. PA glitch thing seems to be a bit random as well.. i ran a game tonight and used some of the same plays i got it on in a previous game and it didn't happen.. i didn't change any sliders or anything... not sure wtf is up with that..

I didn't believe the hype from the start. I knew I was definitely excited about the blocking and locomotion - I think that sets the game apart from the other NG versions of this game.

Dave said it well about the game being stale - it has those moments. I think, like NCAA has always been, playing the game right out of the box with default settings - it's going to feel that way; especially on lower difficulties than Heisman -which is a level I had refused to play during the NG course of this series.

I've enjoyed the brief journey of slider tweaking yet again though (skipped on NCAA 10) - and think the development is headed in the right direction.

My finding is that this game reacts purely on "speed". The value of min threshold (in settings) is highly underestimated, and I think the default of 50 is way too high, which is why you're seeing lack of pressure to the QB, super speed linebackers attacking the CPU ball carrier, outrageous LB jumps into coverage. For you offline users, try to adjust it to "35" - "40", try it out, and see how much better it runs. My personal recommendation is drop to "slow" game speed - but that could be more preference than anything.

I actually like the high fumble chances every run, it makes the cover ball up bottom actually have a use. I don't even remember using it last year as I barely ever fumbled.

Definitely agree, even couple years ago the fumble wasn't there unless the weather was a factor. This time, you actually see the animation perfectly. Yesterday, my RB Torrey Mack fumbled against BC - looking at the replay, the hit by the linebacker actually forced Mack back into his own offensive linemen's knee, which the ball connected with - squirting loose.

I'm not sure if the game is worthy of "The little things" type of thread, but it has its moments.

yes and no. I can generate a pass rush, but getting sacks is almost impossible because they throw it right as u get there.

i was up 28-0 on marshal in my 1st dynasty game. But after the start of the 3rd i shut it off cause i was so disgusted by a blitz & my LT allowed their DE to run by un touched. I must have watched at least 10 replays and every time it was on a blitz where my guys let someone run in without touching them. A few of these were on the previously mentioned busted PA passes. I just dont understand why they get so confused on blitzes and i dont know how to resolve it. I try slide protection and even keep 2 backs in to block. But the backs just stand there or go double team someone else

i agree with people who say its the best EA football game. I say EA because this game on the field still cant touch APF2K8 which is nothing but a port of 2k5 and still light years ahead of anything EA has done. The 2 stick control and sideline animations, the locomotion gimmick. All of that is stuff 2k did better 5 years ago and it makes me sick every time i think about how much better those games played that long ago.

I need to start recording my gameplay vids, because I am not having any trouble with pass rush or PA (to an extent). Played a quick game this morning and had 5 sacks as Virginia against Alabama.

Still got killed 7-35 though.

I really don't get how you guys are having trouble generating a pass rush. I'm seeing plenty of pressure and plenty of sacks from my Buckeye dline, going against the Alabama dline. Are you guys not using the right stick moves?

This game isn't perfect, it has its moments like when it warped my DT from 3 yards away to right in the QB's face and got me a roughing the passer penalty. But I really like this game, I've been waiting 3 years on Next-Gen for EA to give me a game that I would want to play long-term and this is it.

I take it you're playing offline. Also, what if I like to control a LB or safety and not a DL cuz I don't like doing rush moves all game? CPU doesn't generate a rush on their own?

Are you guys having these same problems online? I only play online play. I am still on the fence as to whether or not I'm going to get this game or just wait another month for Madden.

If you don't have it right now I wouldn't rush out to buy it. Wait until the patch comes out and then go pick it up. Just IMO, unless you haven't payed it for a number fo year sand want to get used to the feel of the game and the new recruiting(Which is why I went and got it so quickly)

When the pass rush is too much the only way I could control it last year was playing Double TE sets and having them stay in to block. HBs were useless for the most part.
