Just beat Virginia 37-10 and received a -50 for my season showdown score due to "unsportsmanlike conduct/running it up," lol.

Finally got some rhythm going in the offense again. Run and pass game(s) were playing well. Defense smothered Virginia and held them to 123 yards of total offense!

I am going to start shouting at the TV soon if Dillon Baxter does not start getting some love for the Heisman. He leads the country in rushing yards and just busted off another 231 yards against Virginia - including a 71-yard run to the endzone.

Robert Wood went off as well. He had 4 catches for 131 yards and a touchdown. Kyle Prater - all he does is catch touchdowns - had 2 TD receptions on the day.

Next week I'm going against #1 Stanford baby! I can't wait to play that game!

1-year extension after getting Duke to the Orange Bowl with a stellar D??? I would take a better job. They are just showing you how much of a basketball-school they really are with that shit.

In recruiting news - I was able to snag a "hard" commitment from 4-star center John Mobley. Mobley was also considering Stanford and Notre Dame.

I also received a "soft" verbal from 4-star QB Eric Andrews.

We lost out on CB John Fox to Boise State as he was a "hard" commit after the Virginia game. I immediately offered a scholarship to Darrius Wheeler and he committed on the spot. I also made a scholarship offer to CB Michael Holmes. Due to departing players, I need to sign 3-4 CBs in this recruiting class.

7-0, ranked #3 in the nation now heading into a big time showdown in Madison with the #8 ranked Wisconsin Badgers.

Crushed Minnesota 63-20, put up over 600 yards of total offense.

Simmed the UNLV game, and won 56-14. Ended up losing my stud RB Dustin Jones for 6 weeks though

Luckily, my backup is actually rated higher than Dustin (92 ovr to 90, Jones has higher speed), and he went off against Purdue, running 36 times for 252 yards and 2 TD in a 28-14 good old fashioned Big Ten slugfest.

I've currently got 9 commits (4 of them 4*, 5 of them 3*) and have the #20 class in the nation.

Interesting stat: Through 7 games, I'm 0/4 on FG's. Meaning I haven't made a single one so far this season. I just figured that out, and also just figured out that my kicker has 74 KPW and 79 KAC, meaning my punter will be pulling double duty for the rest of the season.

Just a quick update, this class of 2013 created recruits: QB Tommie Frazier and DT Jerome Brown have given "hard" commitments to their schools. Frazier IRL went to Nebraska, but, he drifted in this game. He kept it in the Big XII, but, went to Oklahoma instead. DT Jerome Brown went to "THE U" IRL, but, in this game, the Hurricanes couldn't land the prospect. Instead, he has decided on North Carolina.

For next season, I am going to create RB Marcus Dupree and the other spot is open. Any thoughts?

To avoid over-recruiting and having to cut guys. I have a hard and fast rule that I use. I take the number of graduating seniors (i.e. 14 seniors on roster) and add 3. I add 3 to cover any transfers or guys leaving early. For year 2 of my USC OC CC, I can only offer 17 scholarships - even if I have 25 available because I have 14 seniors and anticipate 3 guys leaving early or tranferring. If more guys leave early or transfer, I have the 5 week period in the off-season for recruiting to add guys.

This way prevents you from having to cut players that you just recruited because you have too many players on your team.

As for recruiting strategy, I just look at my needs and recruit accordingly. For example, I have nothing but Frosh at the DT spot. So, I probably won't recruit a DT, if I stay at USC, for another year or two. On the other hand, I am losing 3 CBs, so I am trying to stock-up at that position with 4 recruits this season.

Wisconsin game recap:

Trailed 14-10 at halftime. We traded FG's in the third quarter, so it was a 17-13 football game headed into the 4th. Their RB just wore my defense down and pounded me in the 2nd half... he led them down the field on a drive that took up 5+ mins of game clock, and eventually they kicked a FG to make it 20-13.

At this point, there's 3:30 left. My QB has been sucking ass all day, so I figure what the hell, I'm gonna give it to my playmaker at RB and see what happens. He runs the ball 7 times for 55 yards on the drive, and caps it off with a 4 yard TD plunge on 3rd and goal to make it 20-20 with :45 seconds left in the game.

So, they get the ball back. A few defensive errors and all of a sudden they are in FG range. 3rd and 10 and they go for the endzone and just barely misses what would've been the game winning TD. So, they line up for the FG, and I've got one timeout left so I ice the kicker. And... he misses it. Just barely wide left. I take a knee and to overtime we head.

I lose the toss, and Wisconsin obviously chooses to play defense first. I run the ball twice and get 1 yard, so on 3rd and 9 I drop back to pass. My fucking dumbass QB fumbles the ball as he gets hit, my OL recovers it but it's not 4th and 23 from the 38 yard line. My P's playing double duty for me as P and K, and he's got 94 KPW so I figure why not, I'll try the FG. Hits the front of the crossbar. No points.

After 3 unsuccessful running plays, they line up for the FG from 42 yards out. Drills it. 23-20, game over, my first loss as Ohio State head coach.

Their stud RB ran 25 times for 162 yards (6.2) on me. Got carved up through the air as their QB went 14/21 for 218 yards, 2 TD and 0 INT.

My RB Kyle Daugherty did what he could... 34 carries for 168 yards (4.9) and a TD. My QB Terrance Patterson blew chunks, just 7/14 for 99 yards 1 TD and 1 INT, with 9 carries for -31 yards. Yes, -31, and that crucial fumble in OT.

Unfortunately no 5*'s even had interest in me this year. I'm hoping that one or two of the off-season generated ones does.

I do what Leaf does... graduating seniors + 3 as far as how many I'll bring in.

As far as my system, I've gotten anywhere from 0-6 instant commits week 1. After week 1, I target 10 guys for full 60 minutes each, and once one of them commits I add a new guy and target him. I usually offer everybody week 1, but some I will wait until I'm #1 to see if they will insta commit.

The max I allow is the number of seniors plus how ever spots I'm away from 70. The most I have recruited is 17. I give a scholarship out if I am in the top 3 or someone else has offered them one, no matter where I am listed. With pink diamonds, I am always adding recruit.

I only offer scholarships towards the end of the season and if I'm in excellent standings with the recruit, or if I'm trailing another school by a good sized margin and need to make up some ground. Nothing earlier than week 7 or 8 though.

Usually I just recruit for my needs, plus whatever guys I think I can pull in, and 1 big name recruit who is either a 4 or 5 star. Typically I'll be targeting either 12 or 15 guys. I like to stay at 12 or 15 due to time..I'm able to give everybody equal minutes.

It's gotten pretty easy at LSU, even with Heisman recruiting, but I pretty much do what has been said earlier. I try to only recruit how many open spots I have up to 70 (though the CPU always adds three or four random signees I never offered on NSD for some reason, always have to cut those guys). I mostly recruit for need but I try to get 3-4 OL every year and 2-4 DL. And if I have room I try to get at least 1 of each position every year for depth, even if it's just a 2* or 3*.

I usually offer immediately for anyone who I like that is either in state or in a pipeline state that has LSU #1. If I am not their top choice or if it's a guy I am not necessarily as high on as others in his position, I'll hold off on offering. I like to start with 35 targets, but I'll usually narrow it down to 14-17 that I am heavy on. The other guys stay on as backup plans though. I hate being stuck without a backup if someone I was counting on pulls out on me.

I'm only in my second year with SMU so I just load up on 3 stars and hope a 4 star happens to fall into my lap. 3 stars are so damn varied in NCAA 11 though. Some of them will be high 60's to start while others are mid 50's.

Right now with FIU I am basically trying to recruit every decent player I can because the team is shit. But normally I go for what I need or what and then get those people, and I do maybe 15 guys at a time. I find by week 4 I normally have half of them at least locked up either by way of insta commit or I am so far ahead I dont need to waste time of them. Of course though I have only gone through one season in any type of OD and that was my PITT dynasty, so doing this is still new to me.

I got a fucking JEWEL of a 3 star in a HB in my Miami chise in year two. No one was recruiting him so I took a chance with his decent ratings. When he said yes to my scholly offar and came to my school I looked at his ratings and almost had a heart attack.

I had really good success wwith my QB. I had a 3 star RB commit who I think should be pretty good and can't wait to break him in. My MLB 3 star I signed should go off on defense and can't wait to see his simmed stats. I am fucking excited. This is the most addicitng NCAA ever.
