NCAA Dynasty Update Thread

Disappointing end to the season. We had an opportunity to win the WAC, but we went 1-3 at the end of the season to finish 6-6, 3rd in the WAC. We ended up going to the Poinsettia Bowl to play Boise State. We lost 31-17 finishing 6-7 on the season. This is probably gonna keep us at a 1* prestige, and recruiting has been a bitch, so this doesn't help. Some stats on the season.

QB Chuckie Keeton - 137-241 (56%), 2336 yards, 18 TD, 10 INT
RB Robert Turbin - 224 Att, 856 yards, 5 TD
RB Robert Marshall - 115 Att, 502 yards, 3 TD
WR Matt Austin - 38 Rec, 664 yards, 5 TD
WR Stanley Morrison - 34 Rec, 830 yards, 9 TD
WR Chuck Jacobs - 24 Rec, 328 yards, 2 TD

Stanley Morrison was 2nd team All-WAC.

Our top 3 WR's, starting RB, and three starting offensive linemen are all graduating. I redshirted Kerwynn Williams, a Senior RB who is rated 81, so that should help out a little bit. Other than that, we don't have much depth. The recruiting isn't looking too good, so I will be looking at other jobs.

Matt Barkley won the Heisman.
#3 Ohio State beat #14 South Carolina in the Rose Bowl 20-14.
#2 Michigan beat #5 Georgia Tech in the Sugar Bowl 28-14.
#7 Air Force beat #8 Miami (FL) in the Orange Bowl 31-24.
#9 Kansas State beat #17 West Virginia in the Fiesta Bowl 49-28.
#1 Alabama beat #4 Stanford in the NCG 31-17.

Ended up landing the #14 class in the country, with 7 4*'s, 12 3*'s.

I've got some talent on my team but not much depth really. I've got a couple of freshman starting for me as it is. And at QB, I've got 2 5th year seniors followed by 2 true freshman.

Defensively, I've only got a couple of DT's that are worth playing, so I'm switching to a 3-4.

Somehow I'm pre-season #3. That won't last.

- Jeff Casteel was Nebraska's DC, but Bo Pelini got fired and Casteel was promoted to replace him as HC.

- Joe Paterno somehow is still coaching, despite the fact that I've set his age to 67 twice now (For those that don't know, if he doesn't retire at 68 his age re-sets to 22).

Lost the Insight Bowl to Wisconsin 45-35. Was up 35-31 with a minute go and they drove down and scored. Then picked me off and scored again. I finished the year 8-5 so not bad considering I'm in the Big 12 with SMU.

Holy shit my defense is going to be awful. My best player on the d-line is a 77 overall. Both ends have guys at mid 60's starting. Naturally, I'm finally starting to get some 4 stars interested and they are literally all running backs and wide receivers.

I just want to say how proud I am of my created school in my 2019 CC.

I startedout with a 1 star created school called St Augustine University.

I was the offensive coordinator there for 4 years and coached them to 2 Sun Belt championships. In my 3rd (or 4th) seasons as Head Coach I decided to play them. They are doing a fantastic job as a 4 star school and mid B's all around.

I have won a BCS Chapionship with Miami in my 4 years and looking to further improve my "alma matter". I am currently in year 2019 about to finish this season.

So pissed. I'm in week 12 at 7-2. My beast RB Cedric Payne, senior, has come so close the last 2 years to winning the Heisman. So this week he finally moves to 1st position in Heisman rankings and what happens? High ankle sprain, out for 3 weeks. Fuck everything!

(this is with my 2019 Miami CC. Decided to go back and play it a bit so I can finish the season and create the CAPs yo guys entered).

5th season at Wazzu, I haven't been to a BCS bowl since my second year. My OOC games were #20 Mississippi, @#5 Wisconsin, and #19 Notre Dame. I beat down Ole Miss 50-14, lost 28-35 to Wisconsin (they have the toughest place to play in my dynasty) and I beat Notre Dame 35-14.

Right now I'm 5-1, ranked 10th in the BCS, but I have to play #23 Arizona, @ Oregon who is ranked number one, and two more road games against ranked Utah and a ranked Washington.

Hope I can win out and play in the NC. Even if I don't, whoever coaches this team next year is pretty set for the future.

Got my first shut out beating UCLA 38-0. It helped quite a bit that I injured their first and second string QBs. Also I'm going to play more ball control and do whatever I can to keep my defense off the field. I have a video of a nice play made by one of my players but the stupid EA Player Hub tells me to make an ID, which I do, tells me its valid, then I click continue and it tells me its invalid.

Also, my 94 speed former punter turned wide receiver just housed a kick return lol.

A quick update with my Dynasty:

Finished the season with FAU 8-4 and lost my bowl game 9-6.

FAU offered to extend my contract for two more seasons, but I left and went back to Eastern Michigan lol.

5th season in, I'm going to play some games and update later tonight I guess.

I went and took the OC job at Virginia. I wanted to stay in the west, but there was too much young talent and depth at Virginia, so I had to take it. They were 2-10 the previous year, which is probably why the HC and OC were fired. We ended up finishing with a recruiting class ranked around #70.

We started the season 0-3, including two blowout losses to Tennessee and Pittsburgh. We then went on two straight road games and won @ Syracuse and @ BC. Then we had to go Chapel Hill to play #6 North Carolina. UNC started off with two quick TD's in the first quarter. It looked like this was gonna be a blowout, but I changed the gameplan. They were shutting out the run and I couldn't get anything down field, so I pretty much went Shotgun all game, and was just dinking-and-dunking it. We were able to move down the field with ease. We ended up pulling off the upset 34-24. Michael Rocco went 30-38, 322 yards, and 4 TD's (1 rushing).

We have a tough schedule the rest of the way. Our opponents have a combined record of 25-6. If we can go 3-3, I'd consider that a success.

Since losing to Florida to fall to 2-4, I've won six straight. Because the rest of the SEC West were victims to me in this win streak, I won the division. Rematch coming up with Florida, who is now 10-2 and #10 in the country.

Will probably play that game tonight, it'd be great to pull the upset. We've been playing great defense lately (have held four of my last six opponents to 7 points or less) so I feel I have a decent shot.

Lost back-to-back OT games to Maryland and Miami (FL), 28/27-21. In both games we had no running game and we gave up a lot of sacks.

Rematch coming up with Florida, who is now 10-2 and #10 in the country.

Final: #18 LSU (9-4, 8-2) 15, #10 Florida 13 (10-3, 8-2)

We were down 13-3 at the half. Came out strong with a forced three and out, then a drive that resulted in a field goal to cut it to 13-6. With 4 minutes left in the game we scored to make it 13-12 and I elected to go for two. Didn't get it.

They end up punting it back to us with 2:30 left to play, and we proceed to drive it straight down their throat until we set up a 40-yard field goal in the middle of the field with :03 left on the clock.

Instead of giving their offense 30 to 45 seconds, Florida decided to save all three of their timeouts for trying to ice me after I had already run the clock down. Needless to say, dumb AI.

Anyway, we are SEC champions for a 4th straight year and headed to the Sugar Bowl to play a 10-2 at large Fresno State team. :nanadance:

Just had a wild game against #5 Texas, #2 on my instant classics behind my win over Texas last year. I won 49-45 and it was an absolute shoot out and duel between my QB and Texas' QB. Easily the best game my QB has ever played too. I was down 45-42 with about 1:30 left and was on their 30 with 2 timeouts left. We converted 3rd and 10 twice and I got the go ahead TD with 19 seconds left and it ended up being the game winner.

I'm 5-4 currently in my FIU dynasty, and that is good enough to be in about 2nd or 3rd place in the Sun Belt. Next game is a huge match up against FAU and that game should basically crown the conference champion.

MY QB is up to 3000 yards and 23 TD's right now, and I suspect by the end of the season it with be 4000 yards and 30 TD's with the amount of throwing I have to do to win games. I really need a better offensive line.

Next game for Kent St. (9-3 (8-0)) is against NIU in the GoDaddy.com Bowl. I beat them in year 2 of my dynasty (1st Bowl game) at this bowl. My SR (RS) QB already has 4000+ yards and 35 TDs. This is my last year of a 2 year HC contract (4th season with the team), so I'm hoping for a 4 year contract offer. The only job I can see taking that would be reasonable is the HC at University of Houston. Coach Sumlin has a 21% approval rating and is in his last year. But I'm going to stay with Kent St., only so I can see my recruited players make a push for a BCS Bowl (entering this game we are #23 in BCS rankings).
