If they are already scheduled to come to your University that week....calling them should be the only thing you can do. Do you have the CPU aiding you in recruits visiting, if so, the game will schedule the visit? If the game says they are ready to visit your University, you should be able to set them up to visit your school during one of your future Home games (unless you have CPU help on).

When a recruit is scheduled for a visit you can call them that week AND set up their activities.

A bit of a tip for visits. it seems like this year the team who has the visit last (if you are fighting for a recruit) has a better chance of signing the player. So plan for later visits rather than years past early visits.

However I have lost recruites the week before their scheduled visit so be careful

you probably were not going to sign them anyway. I think some recruits are bound to go to some schools as long as they show interest in them.

I have lost players to schools that never offered a scholly!

Yeah it used to be if they had no offers you could sneak in there and take em, now it seems like the CPU doesn't offer to some guys until the recruit has a full green bar.

i take into account what they are "interested" in over what I have highly rated.

I had the #1 class with Penn State last season in my 12 man online dynasty.

I will only go after guys who are interested in me and stay away from potential battle with other users. Pipeline is huge too, as I try to get as many decent guys from my pipeline as possible. They are usually easy to sign and you have more chance of getting a X2. Then there are some guys that have you #1....find these guys and just offer them a scholly and they may inst sign if your lucky. 1-2 insta signs can change your whole recruiting board and strategy.

This advice really only applies to 5 and 6 star schools.

The purple Diamond is rare. If you see it and you want the guy put an hour into him. Even if you are not on his top 10 you will show up next week. It is like a little hidden gem saying "I will sign with you!"

agreed to a point....as you wont have as many guys that have your school #1 and also your pitches will be pretty crappy, making it even more important that you go after guys in your pipeline and that are very interested in signing you.

Yeah well its pretty obvious you target team needs based on how you see it.

Priority

1. Teams Needs (interested recruits)
2. 2-3 Superstars interested (regardless of need)
3. 10-15 interested recruits who I am 80-90% sure I will sign. (pipeline)
4. Throw some scholly's at whomever has me #1 and is worth it.

how many recruits do you guys normally go after?

i usually only set my board up with 12 guys that way i can use at least 50 minutes per recruit, esp when you're a small school and your ratings suck you need to use as many as points as possible. i never put more than 15 guys on my board allowing me 40 points a week. the nice thing is if you get 5 or 6 of them to sign by mid to second half of the season you can go back and look for guys that still are interested and haven't cut down their interest to their top 3 teams. those guys that have you at #7 and are still looking at the their top 10 or top 8 can actually be snagged by the end of the season or the first week in the offseason.

i also always leave a few scholarships for the off season for those "new recruits" that come in and are interested in you.

IT really depends on a few factors.

Remember I am Penn State (ton of interested kids) and I had the #1 class last year and signed a full 25 kids. Therefore this year I went with a smaller sample size. Still put 20+ guys on my board, narrowed them down to needs and which kids were just awesome. I add a few people to try and inst sign as well. After week 1 the whole board gets reshuffled a bit because some guys will sign in week 1 with other schools and some teams will jump far ahead making this guy impossible to sign now.

Basically I will always put 20+ guys on the board and it will be a constantly evolving thing. You can sign guys by putting in 10 mins a week b/c no other team is going after them, but for the core group I am dumping in the full hour. I will lose a fair amount of guys but with there are more recruits out there this year where the CPU will simply ignore. Those are the guys you can milk their calls and concentrate the majority of your time on the important guys that have competition.

I prefer 10, but will do more depending on the school I am.

I have noticed that OL and DL tend to get to top 3 schools quicker than skill position guys, so I Target my line needs first, I usually can fill wr and RB needs later. Te fickers and sometime qbs also sign quick so I like to jump on them soon.
