Love how people who were praising the game a couple of weeks ago are now hating it and saying Madden will be much better. Then madden comes out, they love it at first and then bugs and glitches surface and they hate it too. Wash, rinse, repeat. Just play the game for what it is and deal with the issues, while hoping (doubtfully) that they fix some of them. If you don't like it, don't play it. This is the biggest reason why there isn't a dedicated Madden/NCAA section anymore and why many people have left our "Madden/NCAA" family for other sites

People in general are to critical of games. I picked up NCAA12 for offline stuff to a) hold me over till hockey and b) to cure that itch you get to play football. Nothing more, nothing less. Lucky for me, buying the game for first time, everything is new, so even the little features I enjoy more.

We all know those same people who now hate ncaa, will hate madden in a month.

Haven't bought Madden in about 6 years now. I'd love to play NCAA and just "deal with the issues" when the issues include crashing/freezing and things that ruin the modes I would primarily use(Custom Conferences, player progression in Dynasty) it kind of makes it impossible for me.

Seriously though, this place is a shell of itself because people left because of the bitching/quiting that went on. That's the biggest reason why Izzy(who've lately people have been trying to find) left. People are wondering why he and Tbred, etc, left and they said it was for those exact reasons.

Easily the most frustrating thing i've had happened to me so far, an OD i'm in disappeared as we were entering Year 4. At the end of year three it started off with not recording our games and upon advance from week 11 skipped straight to CC week. Then it didn't record the bowls, and after coaching carousel, shit just disappeared completely and we had to start over. SMFH.

I've always been more of a madden guy than an NCAA guy. I really only buy NCAA to play online dynasty. And if they don't fix that then there's no reason for me to own it.

I'm finding that as well. I use to run all the time because I was terrible at throwing. Then I put up a huge game with Sunseri and that has seemed to open the flood gates. Sunseri2Street for like 205 yards on 5 catches. Street is one speedy SOB, and broke for two huge TD runs. Now I average easily 150-200 per game throwing. Thing i don't like is, I can go like 9/21, and still have 150 yards.

i guess its safe for me to say i gave up on ncaa 11. i havnt played in 2 weeks now and i have no interest at all. there was nothing in paticular that caused this other than it feeling stale after a short time of play.

i did not think it was a bad game. it had some seriously WTF moments that annoyed the fuck out of me. But for the most part it played well on the field.

but that isnt enough anymore. its on the field game isnt enough to carry it because it isnt awesome. its just good and good isnt good enough when u play games that really imerse you into an authentic gaming experience.

i dont care if its a FPS, RPG or sports title. If it doesnt feel authentic, fresh and exciting then you dont got dinky do

Seriously though, I think it is all a by product of the age we live in and how old we are. When I was 9, Madden 94 was played all the time. And we never once said "this isn't authentic enough." We had fun, we ran a sick sweep play, and loved football. Hell we played this bad boy

On PS in 99, and again, no issues what so ever with how the game was played, or complaining about broken this and that, or lack of this and that. Then 2000's hit, and everything changed.

I miss the days of 99. Even more so when on loading screens you got pictures of cheerleaders.

Nah bigger reasons:

-game quality isn't as good anymore
-this site doesn't have nearly the pull MM used to
-people naturally leave over time

Not going to grow a community when the games get progressively worse and you can't recruit new people.

And the cycle no doubt will repeat itself with Madden and with NCAA 13 next year. But that says more about the shit situation we're in than anything.

i think u make a great point raven. The way i look at it is every other aspect of gaming has improved. Consoles, controllers, graphics, AI, depth, authenticity...etc etc etc....all except for games like madden and ncaa.

these games have been basically the same with even more steps back then any other genre out there. Reason is they have no competition

That would be true except for the fact that EA as I showed on the last page EA actually took out features that were in last gen and STILL haven't re instituted them. Plus NCAA 2004 played a great game of football.

EA cut the nuts off it's dynasty mode as soon as it jumped to PS3/XBox360...and it STILL hasn't gotten it right again. It's getting to the point where it's pathetic. Dreads were in this years game and that was a huge fucking deal....except when you look at you had dreads and long hair available on last gen. EA keeps trying to add shit to dynasty mode that doesn't fucking work but for some reason took away thing on last gen that worked really well in dynasty like player discipline, in game stat overlays, presentation options/features, etc.

They promise realism and its not 1997 anymore, games have advanced so much, and when other titles have damn good gameplay, its unacceptable for football to still be stuck in 1997, just, with better graphics.

This is basically my thought.

Look at Madden 02 or some old game and then look at the current gen...at its core...same game.

And it is sad people are still expecting realism. It is a video game, and we still are not there yet in terms of making games look 100% real. All I'm saying in my posts is, I miss the times when it didn't matter what the game looked like, you just enjoyed it. Both games I posted had season mode, no real dynasty stuff at all. But I still played the fuck out of it.

I do think people are way to critical of football. You really don't get this much in the hockey community. Maybe because we see progression. Sure there are things fucked up, but I still will play NHL11 up till the night of NHL12. I still play all the modes in the game, even though there are things wrong, and still play online and offline despite some glitching. It's a game at the end of the day. Plus the other great thing about hockey is, it is free skating (for most part) and you are not picking plays. We don't have nearly as much cheese talk in hockey as football. NHL's biggest AI gaf is being able to dangle around the defence. Other then that, not much else.
