Nice win over Cleveland. Always nice to see when your team dominates an inferior opponent. You can almost clinch the division with a win over the Steelers in the next game.

Looks like Hester may be earning himself another pro bowl invite. He just continues to perform when he touches the ball. Jordan filled in admirably, but, I hope there is no debate when Carson is ready to return. I'm definitely interested in seeing what your squad can do against the Steelers!

The Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers both came into Sunday's game with 6-5 records and tied for first place in the AFC North but in the end the Steelers came out on top in a 39-7 blowout win at home. The Steelers offense came out clicking and went on an amazing 18-play drive to open the game, converting on 6 third downs on a possession that ended with a 2-yard touchdown pass from QB Ben Roethlisberger to TE Matt Spaeth to make the score 7-0. It would be the only time Pittsburgh would find the endzone in the first half but it would not matter as the Cincinnati offense could not muster any production.

Bengals QB Jordan Palmer, starting for just the second time in his career, went 28 of 51 for 265 yards while throwing 1 touchdown and 1 interception during "garbage time" in the fourth quarter. This coming just one week after throwing 3 touchdowns in a 48-17 win over Cleveland.

"That Pittsburgh defense did so many things to take away the downfield passes while also getting great pressue on Jordan," said Bengals head coach Mike Martz, who benched Palmer for one series late in the third quarter.

"They conceded the underneath stuff and did a great job of tackling our receivers before getting a chance to turn passes up field. They were just a very sound defense and played a perfect game against us."

The Cincinnati running game was never able to get going after falling behind early and their running backs only carried the ball a combined 10 times. After two straight 100-yard rushing games, Bengals FB Jacob Hester was held to just 29 yards on 4 carries against the Steelers.

The team also had trouble converting on third down. Despite coming into the game leading the NFL with a 47% 3rd down conversion rate, Cincinnati would convert just 4 of 14 (28%) third down attempts during Sunday's game and only 1 of 6 (16%) fourth down conversions in the second half resulting in Pittsburgh offense's being given short fields throughout the game.

The loss for the Bengals (6-6) drops them from first place in the AFC North into third place under Pittsburgh (7-5) as well as Baltimore (6-6) due to tie-breakers. Pittsburgh is currently on a 4-game winning streak while the Bengals have dropped 3 of their last 4 games.

The team will travel to face Carolina (6-6) next week on the road. The Panthers will be without starting QB Jake Delhomme for the game due to a torn bicep injury and off-season signee Jason Campbell will get the start for the Panthers.

Definitely a tough loss man...It seemed like we couldn't do anything right in this game. They had the right defensive play call for everything we did.

The drop off to Delhomme to Campbell is minimal so I am not really counting on that. It should be a close game and there is no question that this is must-win territory.

The Cincinnati Bengals were dealt a crucial blow to their playoff chances falling 34-21 to the Carolina Panthers Sunday on the road. Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams scored two long touchdowns of 73 and 42 yards in the fourth quarter to help his team maintain its lead and provide the icing on the cake for Carolina.

The Panthers (7-6) were without QB Jake Delhomme and back-up RB Jonathan Stewart yet still were able to muster impressive offensive output gaining 425 total offensive yards on the day. Back-up QB Jason Campbell, signed during the 2010 off-season by Carolina, went 15 of 24 for 221 yards along with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.

Playing from behind the majority of the game and without leading rusher Jacob Hester , who was injured early in the game, the Bengals were rendered one-dimensional. Bengals QB Jordan Palmer struggled under those conditions, going 32 of 58 for 358 yards but throwing 3 interceptions.

"We have to do a better job of protecting our quarterback in terms of not asking him to do so much," said Bengals head coach Mike Martz.

"A lot of that is on me but with that said, we have to do a better job executing early so that we are not put into those positions. We're really backed into a corner here now and we have no margin for error. We have to get these things corrected immediately."

Hester is expected to miss one game with a dislocated elbow suffered in the first quarter.

The Bengals (6-7) will host Miami (4-9) next week at home.

DeAngelo Williams absolutely torched the defense and Campbell wasn't bad either. I'm shocked considering Campbell is not that great in the game. Unfortunately, his one good day came against you.

It's looking pretty dim in terms of making the playoffs this season. However, you still have three games left and anything can happen. Chad is still going off no matter who is under center. He is definitely going to make the pro bowl this year.

Bengals.com reports that the Cincinnati Bengals have signed FB Brian Leonard (69 overall) to a one-year contract. Leonard, who spent last season as well as this year's training camp with the Bengals, was released on the final cut down day following the 2010 preseason and has remained unsigned by any team up to this point. A converted running back, Leonard is expected to fill-in for injured Bengals FB Jacob Hester (77 overall), who will miss one week of action with a dislocated elbow injury. Bengals G.M. D.Geezy was non-committal when asked if Leonard's signing was just a one week arrangement. "Fullback is a unique position in that typically when you get an injury there, the guy you replace him with is usually a guy off the street and a guy you are expecting to come in and play meaningful snaps right away," said Geezy. "Brian is a guy that is very familiar with our system from our time we spent with him in training camp and we have no doubt that he can come in and play right away and also play a big role."

It's been a fun season for sure and this should provide a good stepping stone for the future. Haden is definitely a cornerstone for us moving forward.

I think I am putting him in bad situations. I have to establish some sort of running game and play better defense because we can't afford to have Jordan Palmer passing 50+ times. Guys like Harrison and Spiller really need a big game right about now.

Campbell is actually not that bad in my franchise. He is a 78 overall and made the Pro Bowl with Washington last season. I think he unseats Delhomme in 2011 as a matter of fact. That's of course if I don't make a run at him. :yes:

Don't feel bad, Williams just ripped me up in my Cards franchise. The guy was unstoppable in the second half. They just pounded Williams and Stewart down my throat.

Let's get the ship righted and make a playoff run!

That was probably the worst display of run defense I have seen in my franchise so far. It was pretty disappointing and will probably keep my team home for the playoffs.

This is sooo sick man, just caught up. Keep this up

Appreciate it man...This thing isn't going anywhere any time soon. Once I start a franchise/dynasty, I stick with it until the following year's release and I don't think this one will be any different. I am having too much fun with it and it gives me my football fix during the week.
