No doubt about it man...Losing Carson has cost us a shot at deep run into the playoffs IMO. You really feel the difference between a 90 OVR QB and a 58 OVR QB in this Madden (which is a good thing in my opinion). I cannot play around with my back-up QB situation this upcoming off-season. It will be made a priority.

Three of five total interceptions thrown to Browns defenders resulted directly in touchdowns. MLB D'Qwell Jackson was responsible for two of the touchdowns and CB Eric Wright added another. ​

Bengals officially eliminated from playoff contention following 38-21 loss to rival Browns | O'Sullivan and Palmer's three combined pick-6's doom Cincinnati | Team relegated to "spoiler" role in season finale versus Pittsburgh​

The Cincinnati Bengals' rapid fall from grace continued Sunday with a 38-21 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Brown RB Darren Sproles, signed during the 2010 off-season, amassed 235 all-purpose yards and a touchdown during the game however it was the Browns defense that was the story of the game.

MLB D'Qwell Jackson scored two touchdowns off interception returns, including a back-breaking 15-yard return for a score just before halftime to make the score 20-7. The play came just minutes following a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown by Browns CB Eric Wright earlier in the quarter that made the score 13-7. Bengals starting QB J.T. O'Sullivan threw both pick-6's and was benched at halftime after two quarters of disastrous play.

Back-up QB Jordan Palmer, who was benched prior to this game due to poor performance, didn't fare much better than O'Sullivan. He finished just 13 of 26 for 139 yards with 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions. He too threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown by Jackson.

The loss comes just weeks after the Bengals blew out their in-state rivals 48-17 at home.

"Words cannot express how disappointing these past several games have been," said Bengals head coach Mike Martz on his team's sixth loss in seven games.

"We were on the right track and the wheels just seem to have come off and that's on me.

"We still have a lot to play for. This last game will be about trying to get better for next season and will go a long way in the direction we go in some areas. We need to finish strong."

The loss for Cincinnati (6-9) officially eliminates them from playoff contention. The team will face Pittsburgh (8-7) next week at home. The Steelers are in a must-win situation in week 17, as a loss to the Bengals and a Baltimore victory versus Miami would give the Ravens the AFC North title and eliminate the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Steelers from playoff contention. The Steelers will be without starting QB Ben Roethlisberger (94 overall), who will miss the game with a broken forearm injury. Back-up QB Jon Kitna (66 overall) will start in his place.

This game has been a challenge and has been fun as hell. I have stayed away from Madden for too long.

How's it goin in the D? You murkin' and doing time?

When you're murkin' and doin' time in the D, laughs are in short supply.

Glad to see that you and a lot of other people are enjoying this year's Madden. If I ever get back into gaming, I'll have to get Madden '10 - even if it's time for Madden '11 or '12 or '13. If this year's game is pure gaming bliss, there's no guarantee EA won't screw up something next year to revert back to the days of P.O.S. Madden. (Ahhhh! It feels good to take a gratuitous rip at EA again!)

Tough season man...The quarterback play has been abysmal to put it kindly...The team is taking steps in the right direction though and hopefully with Carson back and a solid offseason you can put together a run deep into the playoffs next year.

Tough loss man. Now it's time to play spoiler against the Steelers. It's clear that the backup quarterback position must be a focus in the off-season. It just seems that Palmer will get bit with the injury bug each year and you need to have solid production from that position.

Looking forward to seeing you end on a high note and pissing on the Steelers playoff chances. Just remember, you have nothing to lose in this game, don't be afraid to pull the trigger on some trick plays or deviating from your typical play-calling.

There are some minor things here and there that bother me about the game but for the most part, I am enjoying the experience. I actually think Madden '11 will be the best video game of all-time though as long as they just build on the foundation they have already established with this one.

Next year is definitely the year if we can stay healthy. This off-season will be focused on protecting ourselves from injuries by building depth and also surrounding Carson we better protection so he takes less hits. We have not looked good at all since he went down other than the first Browns game.

From what I read from other users, Carson Palmer getting injured often is no anomaly. I have got to get myself a better back-up either through the draft or free agency. I may also look to hire a new training staff in the off-season to help with the QB's injury prevention.

You don't need me to tell you this, but your defense is killing you! I guess that we know where the Bengals will be focused come April. I am feeling you, though. I cannot get a defensive stop to save my life.

I actually thought my defense was doing good up until the second half of the season. We were ranked 15th at mid-season and not allowing a ton of points. A lot of my blowouts can be blamed on turnovers from my back-up "quarterbacks."

Can't wait for the Steelers game keep this up lovin the layout and I'm pumped to see what you do in the off-season

Steelers game will be played tonight and more than likely posted tomorrow. I'll get the off-season started on the weekend and will take my time with it just like the last one. The off-season is probably my favorite part of Madden so I like them to last.

Bengals.com reports that the Cincinnati Bengals have benched QB J.T. O'Sullivan (58 overall) following his horrific week 16 performance and QB Jordan Palmer (58 overall) will start the team's season finale matchup at home against Pittsburgh. O'Sullivan, named the starter prior to the game, went just 5 of 11 for 24 yards with 2 interceptions in one half of action. Palmer didn't fare much better, going 13 of 26 for 139 yards with 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions.

NFL.com reports that the Pittsburgh Steelers (8-7) can clinch the AFC North title with either a win or tie in Saturday's week 17 match-up versus Cincinnati on New Years Day. Should the two-time defending champion Steelers lose, a Baltimore Ravens (7-8) win would give them the AFC North title.
