Note: The following is a brief summary of the remainder of the Bengals 2009 preseason games.

Summary: It was more of the same for the Bengals in preseason game #2 as Tom Brady and the Patriots torched the Cincinnati defense for 447 yards on the day. Brady went 13 of 14 for 183 yards and 2 touchdowns against the horrendous secondary of the Bengals.
Carson Palmer and the Bengals offense struggled to move the ball all game long and had just 188 yards and three field goals to show for their effort. The team also turned the ball over three times.

Summary: In what is usually the final dress rehearsal prior to a meaningles fourth preseason game, the Bengals gots dressed down at home by the St. Louis Rams 36-13. Rams quarterbacks Marc Bulger and Brock Berlin combined for 252 passing yards and two touchdowns.
The Bengals were able to find some success offensively compared to their previous two games but not by much. QB Carson Palmer went 21 of 39 for 260 yards and a touchdown but his three interceptions marred his performance as the Bengals dropped to 0-3 in the preseason.
Cut Down to 52: Released LB Brandon Johnson (48 overall) and DE Frostee Rucker (60 overall)

Summary: In what was probably their best performance of four poor ones, the Bengals played competetively but in the end fell to the Indianapolis Colts 30-13. The team trailed 17-13 going into the fourth quarter but a 60-yard touchdown pass from QB Jim Sorgi to WR Ron Hall as well as two Adam Vinatieri field goals sealed the win for the Colts.
Bengals QB Carson Palmer played the entire first half and finished the day 14 of 25 for 118 yards. RB Cedric Benson had a decent day as well gaining 28 yards on three carries.
The team was finally able to muster a pair of turnovers and finished on the plus side in that category for the first time this preseason. CB David Jones and SS Nedu Ndukwe each had interceptions during the contest.
Some tough decisions now have to be made as the team must trim it's roster down to 48 players headed into the regular season. To reach this number, the Bengals move cut three players.
