It aint free, it was paid for as part of your PS3 purchase. That type of thinking implies that as consumers we shouldn't expect to get what we were told we were paying for when making the decision to buy the system...and Im not even going to get into the issue I have with the lack of security and communication.

No shit, never did i say "shit doesnt happen". I said people have a right to be upset rather than to repeatedly hear people say dumb shit insinuating that it shouldnt matter because its "free".

Funny thing is, Im not even upset about it. I have a 360 to use for gaming Netflix and Hulu. It was irritating that PSN was down initially because I wanted to buy that FFIV game for PSP since gamestop didnt have it. I have since decided not to get it anyway, so it saved me $40 or whatever. At this point, its just humorous to see how much more Sony can fuck up.

When you buy games made with online capabilities to play on a system that allows you to play said games online (paid for by a fee or not) and you can't?

My opinion's not even coming from the "SONY owes us compensation" camp either.

You've got games like MK, SOCOM, Portal 2 that specifically are built to be played with other people through the PSN and not even a day of being out and that's taken away.

I get that the hack and the subsequent damage following that had a lot to do with it but damned if it's starting to feel more and more like the PSN isn't coming back at all.

I'm not going to make an rash decisions, but, if PSN was gone for good, I think it's a no-brainer that the PS3 becomes a paper weight. Problem is, if PSN is gone - it becomes worthless. Trade-in values would plummet. Shit would get ugly real quick.
