I believe the 2 PSN, 2 PSP games is for overseas, Europe. Also, they get the PS+

I thought it was all but confirmed that we were getting the same stuff? I will be more than outraged if Europe gets more shit than we do. Were they some how affected differently? Nope.

It's only Europe. None of the other regions have announced the additional content in the "Welcome Back" package.

Agreed. But here is a serious question, and I hope that we can take it a bit seriously, because I talked about it with a few people after work today and got a variety of answers. Is PSN on the next Playstation console going to be free again, or a pay service like Xbox Live?

I think it's going to depend on whether Sony feels they can upkeep their servers/services without having to generate extra revenue or whether the current fiasco takes a large enough bite out of their wallet. If reported estimates are accurate, Sony has already suffered over $1 billion in losses due to PSN getting hacked.

It can remain as free a service as it ever was to begin with, Sony just hides the cost to the consumer in the cost model for the console, accessories, game and PSN purchases. Specifically charging for access to it will not change anything. What they need to focus on is the overall security of their network. If they had spent as much on that in the past few years as they did their army of corporate attorneys to sue people and harass homebrew enthusiasts, PSN would be up and running today.

Hopefully they have learned a valuable lesson.

One thing I have learned is that I either need a roku box or a tv that can directly link to the internet so I can watch Netflix and MLB.tv. The 2 apps needing to rely on PSN kinda screws the works, when PSN goes down.

I love you Bill, but this theory makes absolutely no sense... the 360 is the same price for everything, is it not? I'm pretty sure a new release costs $60 on both systems. Controllers are both around 40$. PSN games cost the same on XBL. A comparable 360 with the hard drive costs the same as well.

It seems like PSN might be up very soon. The official PlaystationNL Twitter account just posted this new information that is sure to please PS3 fans. According to them, PSN is being tested by select individuals across Europe, US and Japan.
