The pass interference call in overtime was not only a horrible call, but they also missed the block in the back on Jared Allen who would have owned Brees. The shot at the knees was missed, as well as the horrible call on the catch, even after he had instant replay. I may be a little bitter, but I don't feel biased when saying that.

The refs definitely missed the knee shot on Favre that rolled his ankle. That was a straight up cheap shot. They should have also not called pass interference against the Vikings on 3rd down in OT setting the Saints up in easy FG range. The defender and receiver got their legs tangled and the ball was not catch-able regardless. Horrible call. That said, the Vikings put themselves in position to lose the game by giving the ball over a half dozen times to the Saints and taking at least 10-14 points off of their score while adding at least 7 to the Saints score.

2. all Brett had to do was limp the 3-5 yrds and slide.

3.this is at least 3 CC where Brett threw a stupid pass to lose the game(eagles, Giants, Saints).

4.I don't know how you trust AP to hold on the ball. This guy is not a elite back. Elite backs actually hold on to the ball. IN fact that what makes him perfect for favre as they have the same skill at making fans say "How he do that" and "OH MY Fing god WTF".

When you lift a quarterback and slam him, it gets called. Every analyst said that was a legit roughing the passer call. The pass interference call was obvious and I can't even understand your judgment of bringing it up.

I don't disagree he has ball management issues, but to completely dismiss him as not elite is ridiculous.

Brett Favre Greatest Regular Season QB
Average Playoff QB.

His style (high risk, high reward) works well in the regular season where you can get away with some brain cramp games. Doesn't work well in a playoff run.

Again, another critical error at the worst time in a critical game. He was involved with 3 of those turnovers. Pretty much what I expected. Saw it too many times in GB, though I loved him while he was in GB (faults and all).

I agree. And from what I saw in the game the refs were terrible for both teams.

I remember NO got called for an illegal contact on a 3rd and 5 when the DB made contact with the WR inside 5 yards. You could tell cause of the yellow first down line. Then a few plays later that weird "late hit out of bounds call" where they flagged that Dlineman for hitting Favre late. Even though the refs in the Colts game let Indy get away with drilling Sanchez in a similar situation.

My only positive about the Saints winning. Brees won't be able to start the game and Favre will skip as usual. This leaves Aaron Rodgers as the starting QB for the NFC. If Favre doesn't skip, I'll start thinking maybe he actually did want revenge.

The fact is certain players , especially in such evenly matched games , are asked to win or lose a game with a single play.
Most of the time that one play comes down to a throw , catch or a kick.

Today despite his best efforts , despite them only being in the situation to win because of him.....when it counted most...Favre reverted to his rookie mentality and threw away the game.
His throw took any decision making or chance out the window.

Its not his fault they lost. It is his fault they didnt get a chance win.

Enough said, great post. Big time players make big time plays in big time moments. Favre was brought in to get this team to a Superbowl....and I give him credit for getting close, but he certainly has fault in why they aren't there.

I was sitting in that dome, 100 percent certain that Longwell was going to kick the game-winning field goal. Instead, Brett threw it away with a throw quarterbacks are taught not to make in high school.

ESPN blaming this loss on farve is retarded, since when has a team fumbled 6 times, lost 3 of them and two of them in the redzone and won the game?
