im not at all saying everyone is a fanboy, but the fact is that people get offended when their item of choice is being attacked. In this case it was factual info being posted about losses so it wasnt a specific person bashing the console. Sure chod posted it, but it doesnt change the info he posted.

I'm pretty sure the factual info provided doesn't make the 360 the "Superior" system. Based on sales, it does. So what? 360 sells more then the PS3. When I had my 360 I noticed the majority of the gamers I played with were ages ranging 12-18, and sometimes younger.

Parents don't want to fork out $600 dollars for a system. So it's easier to go get the $199 Arcade Version, or the $299 Standard. That's understandable when your core gaming base are teenagers and adolescents who can't afford a $600 dollar system, and mommy and daddy won't hand over the cash? Of course more people are going to go to the cheaper system.

I purchased my PS3 when my fifth 360 crapped out on me. I had enough. I had the system since the launch. And after five of them crapped out? I was ready to move on. PS3 might not have the online community I was used to, but I'm happy not paying a yearly fee.

I now also have a blu-ray player. Which is tits.

So yes, your system of choice might have won the "Console War" against the PS3. At the end of the day it doesn't make 360, Wii, or PS3 gamers, winners or losers. So what's winning the "war" really worth?

PP...why does anyone need blu ray? video stores are a dead industry and places like netflix will start streaming HD videos. You can rent movies now in HD for DL on the 360.....blu ray is already obsolete

My thing is this. Back over at MM I was one of the people that would also gang up up on people like DeeJay, WM, Burns, etc. in the early stages of the PS3 because I thought that intitally the PS3 was far from living up to expectations. But not long after WM left the site I started really gaining an appreciation for the system and of course at this date and time it's kind of hard to argue that it's not the superior piece of hardware. Even back then, with all the complaints about the PS3 I still isn't think $600 was too much. I took advantage of every feature it had and it ended having a lot more value then the 360, even back then.

We would have constant arguments over there about whether the PS3 was worth it's price.

But the interesting thing is that while I have since wavered on my opinions people like Cho and Maynard (to an extent) have continually bashed the PS3 and seem to get some kind of glee out of any of it's failures or downfalls. So when everyone migrated over here I was one of the few people that felt like I had to defend the PS3 position.

As far as my complaints about the durability of the 360, I don't think that can be argue either.

I also find it funny when someone like Maynard continually says taht teh PS3 only has "3-5 good exclusives". Really? You can't be serious. The PS3 has more quality exclusives than the 360. I'd be glad to dig up my list. Now, if most of those games don't appeal to you, that's fine. But to make a statement like that just makes it look like you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.

The bottom line is that I'm a fan of gaming period. Sure, i wish that PS3 has a slightly better online system. I wish that the 360 wasn't such a poorly constructed console. I could go on and on.

Another thing I think is funny is that, like others have pointed out, when people like Cho seem to 'get their rocks off' when an article like this is posted. This is something that I started pointing out towards the end of the MM days and caught a ton of flack for it. Cho, why would you or anyone else want the PS3 to fail? Not that it will. But if by some miracle it does and then we are left with basically one 'next gen' console (I still don't count the Wii in this 'war' because it's not the same product). We will all be fucked.

Also, LOL at "I've rented Uncharted 2 twice." Yeah, that's really showing a support for the system.

But it's your prerogative not to show support. Why should you? As long as you're playing games you enjoy that's all that matters. Just don't try to 'defend' your position by saying you're renting games for it.

Streaming is really cool but it's not the same quality as the physical media.

I also applaud MS for bring full 1080p streaming videos to the 360. But, whoops, you NEED a 8MB connection. Now, I'm sure a good majority of 'core gamers' like us have that connection speed. But MOST people do NOT. I'm one of them. I live in the sticks. So, streaming for me is almost a non-issue. Fuck, some people still only have dial-up or, gasp, no internet at all!

And don't even get me started on the argument that physical media is dead, period. "Why buy a disc when I can just download it?" Oh, I don't know, because you really don't own it. Look at me. I got fucked by the whole 'The two exclusive GTA4 DLC packs will be download only.'So I download the first one only yo find out that they changed their minds and decided to release them on a disc too. Had I know that I would've waited. Fucking bullshit right there. Not only does the disc get exclusive shit but, not that I ever would, it's not like I could ever trade-in my downloaded copy down the road.

never say never. but i am not saying the disc is dead. I said blu ray is already obsolete. More and more of the things we watch on video are available to people in various methods that dont include a disc. Making the blu ray player an out dated technology in the future. Physical media is a thing of the past. Todays world is about accessibility and keeping people in front of their TV or PC. everything will be available for DL if its not already

And the internet is as common today as the telephone was 20 years ago. Only a small amount of people didnt have phones in their house which is the same as the internet of today. If you dont have internet then you basically live on another planet

I love the 360 for shooters, I have sasquash hands so it fits perfectly plus it just seems like that is what the 360 should be for lol.

I'm basically the same way. 360 for shooters and exclusives which is why I bought Borderlands for 360. Although I'll be primarily playing MW2 on the PS3 because I have a lot more friends getting that version.

Like I said before, it stems from MM. It's funny because I remember when the original Xbox came out it was considered the 'dark side' if you bought one. I'm pretty you a pretty big PS2 guy back in the day. I know you were a HUGE Gran Turismo guy. Then all of the sudden the 360 is the first next gen console and you, amongst probably millions of others, were like "360 is the pwnzerz!" I think most people were very impressed with all of the cool new games coming out ofr next gen and the bells and whistles the 360 had.

Then the PS3 comes out and the roles switched. If you bought a PS3 you went to the "dark side". You were one of the main people on MM that continually bashed the PS3. Even after I bought one I agreed with a lot of the points you had and jumped in with the bashing of DeeJay, WM, Burns and others. Then after the PS3 was out a while I realized that a lot of what those guys were saying was legit.

Now a few years down the road, it's my OPINION, that the PS3 is easily the superior console. Durability, variety of exclusive games, blu-ray, free online, built-in wireless, etc, etc.

You and others still take every chance you can to bash the PS3 so I feel that someone needs to step up a bit. My question would be the same to you. Why do you feel it's necessary to start threads like this when you know what kind of shit storm it will cause?

And no, i don't defend my car, shoes, etc the same way I do the PS3 because I am a hardcore GAMER. I spend a majority of my time gaming, reading gaming mags, visiting gaming sites, posting on gaming boards. I don't do that for anything else.
