So I am home today, feeling like shit, and with some free time, I decided to throw together this list. Looking at the current Head Coaches in the NFL, thought it was worth rating them. Might make for some good discussion, so here is my list:

... I think Leslie Frazier will be a better coach than over half the guys listed there. If Minny was smart, they'd can Childress so as not to let Frazier get away.

Completely agree with you about Frazier. Vikings would be smart to lock him up as "coach in waiting."

#16. Steve Spagnuolo - LOL.

I think Pete Carroll is perfect where he is at. The man is a good coach. Great? No. But he's good.. and he's motivated a team that has a bare cupboard in talent to be at the top of a division right now. Granted, it's the NFC West, arguably the worst division in the league right now.. but this is a team that won a whopping 9 games in the last 2 years.. Carroll may very well get them to 9 wins in a full blown rebuilding year.

If that doesn't scream "good coaching job" I don't know what does.

Looking at coaches 19-32 though, you see the league is not only talent deprived at QB.. but apparently coach deprived too. Yikes.

Honorable mention to Marvin Lewis. Feel bad leaving him out, he has been vital to resurrecting a really bad organization, but it doesn't look like he'll get them to a SB.

.. that's as far as I care to go really.

Like the state of QB's these days, I don't think there are 10 really special coaches in the League right now.

I would choose Fisher over any coach other than Belichick.

16 years, 11 Playoff wins, only 4 losing seasons.

I suppose it can be argued that Shanahan and Coughlin should be rated higher, but I can't do it, personally. They have rings, but they also have had franchises go south on them.

Have fun with him then.

Gruden, Cowher, Holmgren > mostly everyone on this list.

1-4 was easy, 5-8 was really tough. I think you can make a case to put Fisher higher, but I think some members here can explain some of his issues as a HC.

Tomlin and Payton have won the past two Super Bowls. Mike Tomlin only lost one game this year while playing Charlie Batch and Dennis Dixon at QB.. I'm not really sure how you can rank a guy who didn't even make the big game with a 14-2 squad above either of those two.

He has also only won 4 divisional titles in his tenure as coach.

Andy Reid who is constantly hated on for some time management/playcalling fuckups [which he deserves] has managed to notch 7 divisional titles and the same amount of conference championships in 4 less seasons.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some of these younger guys go down the list later, every team has good and bad years and some of those coaches haven't hit the bad years yet.

Tomlin won it with Cowher's team and Payton over Fish is just....well laughable. Fish constantly gets the best from guys that have average talent and has them over achieving, no-one in the league gets more from less than possibly Bellicheck, sure he's guilty of being too conservative at times but he's a damn good coach and Top 3 without question imo. No offense Woy but any Titans fan that thinks we're better off without him is a fucking idiot.
