No TE...Donald Lee hasn't played in a few weeks because he's injured. Quarless might be good, but he's not Jermichael Finley. That's like losing Antonio Gates and getting Owen Daniels. Yeah, Daniels is good, but he's not Gates.

Just stop. Daniels is a top 10 TE, while Gates is the best in the league. Finley's a top 10 TE, Quarless is a sixth-round rookie that hasn't proven shit yet. That comparison is horrendous.

Along with injuries, McCarthy is holding that team back...I can see it from the few Packers games I've caught.

His defenses always end up in the top half of the league (this year may be the first time they won't)


All that with no QB and 1 receiver.

He's gone at the end of the year and he'll immediately get another head coaching gig. He's quality.

And who's fault's that? He's had 9 years to find a QB and 4 years to find a reciever to play alongside Steve Smith ever since Mushin went to the Bears (wait... he had that in Keyshawn who he cut after a year for Dwayne Jarrett)

16 years, 11 Playoff wins, only 4 losing seasons.

I suppose it can be argued that Shanahan and Coughlin should be rated higher, but I can't do it, personally. They have rings, but they also have had franchises go south on them.

Like when the Titans went 4-12 and 5-11 in back to back years?

And it's only 5 playoff wins (and he hasn't won one since 2003). Mike McCarthy has won a play off game more recently (although him and Thompson than proceeded to chase the guy who got them that far out of town)

Point is, Paulie Walnuts said that our tight ends were still good, and I said that without Finley and maybe Donald Lee they aren't very good.

Tight end isn't a problem though, especially compared to the other issues you have - coaching, RB, offensive line, injuries.

I'm pretty sure if you ask a random Packers fan about their biggest problem right now, they wouldn't reply with the tight end position. Besides, even though I said Quarless hasn't proven shit yet, he has played decent enough to make that spot on your offense a non-worry.

No, it's not a problem like having no offensive line is a problem, but losing Finley and Lee hurt.

Our line did suck last year, but it was worse.

He was a second rounder, but he still sucks. Minus his 71-yard run against Washington, he has had 239 rushing yards and a 3.8 average. Not good. Using your logic, Ryan Leaf was a first rounder, so he should be good. Alex Smith was a first rounder, so he should be good. Tom Brady was a 6th rounder, so he should suck.

If he rushed for "3.8" yards for three straight plays, he would have a first down every time. It's McCarthy's fault for not establishing the run game when we should.

Yea, it's bad play calling, but Jackson still isn't good. A 3.8 average is the 38th best in the NFL

GB was touted as having one of the best offenses, if not the best offense, in all of football. You cannot tell me that losing Finley and Grant have made the offense suck dick.

Even if the Packers only ran the ball one out of every 3 plays and got Jackson's average, they would be faced with a manageable 2nd and 6. Your telling me that because you lost Finley, this high-powered offense can't get it done?

No, but our offensive line hasn't been able to help Jackson at all. I think that's probably why McCarthy won't run the ball anymore; without Grant and decent line play, running the ball is tough, and he thinks Aaron Rodgers will throw the ball better than Jackson can run it. Is it a bad decision? Yes. But I can at least see where it's coming from.

I agree that McCarthy isn't a great coach, and that he might be holding us back a little bit, but I thought he should have been a little higher on the list.

1. I guess that's what he's doing. Rodgers is good enough--most of the time--that he can at least find a semi-open receiver within a second or two. If not, he usually manages to throw the ball away. Jackson can't just throw the ball away if there's no hole; his only option is to get tackled behind the line.

2. McCarthy calls less runs than usual because Grant's out and the offensive line is struggling. My guess is that if Grant were back in, he would still call too many pass plays, but I'm just saying that defenses would have to be more weary of Grant and they couldn't just sit back in coverage all the time.

3. Finley being out means Rodgers has one less great receiver to throw to. Finley is too big for corners and too athletic for linebackers, so if the rush is on he can just chuck the ball over the middle and hope Finley comes down with it, which he often did. I haven't seen what Andrew Quarless can do.

4. McCarthy is an average coach. I know that. I'm biased for the Packers, so of course I defend him. And maybe I don't know the NFL as well as you guys, but from what I have seen the offensive line and not running the ball at all hold us back.

Just because they're on your team or in your organization doesn't mean you have to defend them.

Hell, I don't defend Jeff Fisher half to three-fourths of the time.
