Gameplan
- Steelers have a solid pass defense with Woodson and Lake leading the way. We'll have to spread the balla round, particularly to James Lofton as I'm sure Andre Reed will be doubled for most of the night.
- Thurman Thomas should get a lot of carries today, it's going to rough with the Steelers linebackers, but if we can establish him early we should be good.
- We need to get pressure on Brister. Hopefully Smith will matchup nicely with Ricketts.
- We need to not make mistakes, Pittsburgh is good at capitalizing on turnovers, and that's something we can't afford.
- We'll have to take some long bomb shots early on to prove that we're not intemidated by the defense.
- Bennett and Talley should be able to stuff Hodge all day long in the runninggame. We don't expect them to gain much at all.
Coach: Steelers - Chuck Knoll
Gameplan
- Brister is going to have to shake off last weeks lost to the Bills. It's ironic that we faced them in week 17 and then back again in the wild card the following week. We should have a much better gameplan going in today though based on our performance.
- Merril Hodge is going to have to run great today. He's not impressed lately, if things go sour we may have to put in Barry Foster.
- Louis Lipps should be our main target, and I don't think Odomes or Williams is effective enough to cover him all day, we'll look for him to get some opportunities.
- Rod Woodson will play Andre Reed all day. We'll also get some help from Lake up top, we're going to have to shut him down to keep Kelly from lighting us up like last week.
- Gary Anderson missed two field goals last week, I hope he has shaken off that bug.
- Hardy Nickerson, Greg Lloyd, and Olsavsky are going to have to step up and stop Thurman Thomas' opportunities. The victory depends on it.
