He tried to tell Terrance Tolliver that LSU was bad academically and that they don't graduate their players. In addition, Patrick Peterson alleged that Meyer was part of the reason his ACT score was flagged by the NCAA, delaying his enrollment at LSU.

Many recruits have referred to him as the biggest negative recruiter they've had in the process.. Nu'Keese Richardson reference this as a big reason as to why he ended up at UT.

Is Meyer alone in negative recruiting? No. Am I biased in this argument? Probably, but I'm also a guy that has a ton of respect for Meyer based on what he's accomplished and him being a former Buckeye fan and holding a degree from tOSU doesn't hurt either. But Meyer's questionable recruiting tactics isn't exactly new on the street.. go ahead and google "Urban Meyer and negative recruiting" and have fun with it.

Yeah, Urban definitely did flag Peterson's ACT score, because he decided to go elsewhere. It cost him the entire month of August and he didn't get to start right away as he should have based on his ability.

Meyer has a penchant for douche behavior, which is why this story was so believable. The fact that such a retarded story could even be close to sounding plausible is an indication of how slimy Meyer's recruiting tactics are known to be.

I'm glad this is all cleared up, and Meyer isn't promising to die for recruits.

Now if he can just stop flagging opposing players' test scores, snitching on other programs, negatively recruiting, accepting players who end up using their roommate and teammate's dead girlfriend's credit card 2 days after she died, or reinstating players specifically for big games only to kick them off the next week (Marcus Thomas, anyone?), I'll respect his tactics as a coach, and actually believe he's a man of character.

That's not even mentioning the time I had to hear him speak at an Atlanta Alumni scholarship banquet for my sister (she's a UF student). After arriving 2 hours late, Meyer spoke for 1 minute about the scholarship, and spent the next 40 minutes breaking down each aspect of his depth chart, including a 5 minute rant on how good Cameron Newton would be, funny because Newton got arrested for stealing laptops about 2 weeks later.

Then, the whole crowd stood in line for another hour to get his autograph. Boy, I was thrilled. What a privilege it was to hear him speak.

ESPN did everything they could to rip Ohio State and Jim Tressel to shreds during one of the most biased, agenda filled excuses of "journalism" I've ever seen, and you know what? When the smoke cleared and it was all said and done, Ohio State had one self reported violation and ESPN's information was false, but the rest of the nation still believed that we ran a dirty program, had a bunch of thugs, etc. because ESPN never retracted its statements and didn't publish our statements of denial.

The reason people ran with this story was because its believable given what he's done in the past... and I'm pretty sure that a major website didn't even touch this issue until sources confirmed it was wrong and they posted Meyer and Floyd's denial of the situation.

The reason is UF has a huge bullseye on their back due to their success and press saturation. Never has the sports press sucked up to a player like they have with Tebow, so I can see why some people get turned off. Add to that anti-religious bigotry and we have the bases loaded.

Futhermore every top-notch program in the nation is in the public eye and gets a ton of attention for virtually anything. Case in pont lets take a look up into Michigan: Someone accuses RR of violating NCAA rules, and all of a sudden its the hot news around the nation. Meanwhile, at Michigan State they have 10 players beat the shit out of some kids at a party, and it barely registers a bleep on the radar.

You are also a Buckeye. The Gators embarrassed your team. I wonder if this plays a part here.

I have no problem with Meyer or Florida... they beat our ass and deserved to win that game and I hold no ill will towards them. I actually gained some respect for Meyer in that game because he could've made it a lot worse than he did, he could've put up 50 if he had wanted to.

The only team that I absolutely hate is Michigan. And little brother (Cincy) is working their way up but they'll be back to irrelavence in a few years anyway, so it won't matter.

You also realize that playing at the Meadowlands is Navy's call since they are the home team and they have played Notre Dame there 6 times. The last time being in 2004? Not to mention Navy has played 6 other times at The Meadow Lands against teams that aren't Notre Dame.
