From the person who admittedly said they only like to watch football when it's a shootout and who used to say your favorite teams were Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, and Houston.

It's really a matter of common sense. I can show a 12 year old girl Randy Moss and then Vincent Jackson's highlights and she'd even get it right. Hell, I can show a 10 year old girl the stats and she'd be able to look at the TD's and yards and get it right.

You also have to think about the effect they have on a defense. Randy Moss being so good allowed Wes Welker to have some amazing stats. For the 3 years he was there it was the same question and problem for every defense the Patriots faced. "How can we stop Randy Moss deep and still cover Wes Welker?" Without Randy Moss, Welker is a whole lot easier to cover and The Patriots probably don't make it to the superbowl in 07. Imagine the 07 Pats if they had Jackson instead of Moss. Doubt they'd break any scoring records...

Yes Randy Moss isn't in his prime and he may not be the obvious best anymore(still a top 5) but he's still better then Vincent Jackson.

Moss 1 on 1 even against the best CB's is a death wish, Jackson on the other hand is much more easier to stop.

A pointless article. The whole premise is wrong. Judging Moss' effectiveness by "how he fights for the ball" is one of the dumbest things I've heard, because that isn't the key to his success. Moss is a big-play, downfield threat. Even if he has zero catches, the opposing defense still has to account for him.

And LOL at drawing any conclusion based on his post-2007 stats. Moss' 2007 season was one of the best in NFL history. In 2008, Moss spent the entire year getting underthrown by Matt Cassel. To think that Moss would continue along at his 2007 pace and have 1500 yards/23 TDs with Matt Cassell throwing him passes is INCREDIBLY stupid. In 2009, Moss was back with Brady and once again led the NFL in TD catches and had a great year. Moss hasn't played all that well in 2010, but the season is only 4 games old. Sheesh.

Moss is one of the most dominant receivers ever to play the game, and he can still make plays in the NFL. However, he’s a negative in the blocking game, doesn’t possess open-field ability beyond his deep patterns, and has been poor thus far in 2010.

His reputation as a dominant receiver still causes some teams to pay him a lot of respect and soften coverage more than his play dictates they should, and his catch against the Jets shows that he is still capable of the spectacular.

For a receiving corps in need of help, Moss should upgrade the Vikings, but if they think they have just traded for someone who can directly replace what Rice brought them last season, they may be sadly mistaken.

Yeah, his catches-TDs-yards indicated it. He made the pro bowl. It was his 10th season over 1000 yards and his 9th with 10+ TDs. He opened things up to help Wes Welker have an All-Pro year. Tom Brady also made the pro bowl. I would like to see the 21 better WRs, but I'd guess that they had Welker above Moss, which is a joke. It would also be ironic, because you seem to think that this website goes "beyond statistics", when the opposite is true. Moss' value isn't totally reflected in statistics.

How do you know Jerry Rice is the best wide receiver ever? Because the catches, touchdowns, and yards indicate it? I always felt the stats would reflect the guys who played the best on the field. You're argument is so far gone at this point I can't even figure out where to start. 22nd in the league, really? If he was in a pass first system and did more than what he does in San Diego then he could show why he's as good as I say he is. At this point in time it doesn't look like that'll happen but hopefully he does get traded. I trust a site that watched all of Moss' and Jackson's plays since the '08 season more than I trust some stats and you guys.
