My biggest issue with Reid is his offensive playcalling.
But, at the end of the day, he may actually be a prophet.
In three years, 95% of NFL teams will be running a form of the spread.
I'm not saying I'm a fan, I think there should be more balance, but it is what it is.
New England and Indy essentially run Reid's O and no one is complaining.

Well than Peyton has been running that offense since before Reid got hired. Brady hasn't run that exact offense his entire career either, because he didn't have he weps early on.

And Belichek was already using that style in Cleveland waaaay before Reid ever got higher than a QB position.

So don't go putting Fat Fuck on a pedestal most of the NFL is running these offenses, thanks to teams like Boise State, Florida, Oklahoma, USC and Texas. Guess what these offenses fit their players they draft.

It wasn't until almost 3 years ago that Reid actually went full spread after forcing McNabb to sit under center for all that time.

The guy's not special, so please don't over-rate him. He's a good coordinator maybe, but he is a horrible in game coach, and has horrendous game management skills.

LOL, Andy Reid proves yet again what a complete fuck up he is. Way to give up on your boy, who you now wasted a high draft pick on, and traded away your franchise's best QB for. The Eagles weren't going anywhere with Vick, Kolb or Joe Montana circa 1988 at QB. You might as well let Kolb develop and see if he can show you ANYTHING. And I'm not a Kolb fan at all.

The Eagles may win a few more games with Vick under center, but I really hope people don't think this guy is going to lead us deep into the playoffs.

Of all the available coaches out there - who is better than Reid?
Maybe Bill Cowher - but that would be a huge change in philosophy on O and D.

Which is EXACTLY what we need.

You can look at Reid's numbers and say whatever you want, but when you watch the actual games, you can see why Eagles fans want Reid gone.

His philosophy hasn't worked in years, yet he keeps going out there year after year with the same garbage, and every year we lose games because of the same reasons. Bad play calling, bad clock management, undisciplined play. That all falls on the coach.

Like Albert Einstein once said: "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

The people who wanted McNabb gone (I was not one of them) always say "We needed a new face in there, McNabb has run his course". I agree with that, but it was the coach we should have changed, not the QB.

I also think Vick does give the Eagles the best chance to win right now. It's not like Vick is 35. He can play for another 5 years at this level (at the very least) and if he can improve his passing game from the pocket he'd be even more dangerous. I think he's a pretty good fit for Philly's scheme. More practice and with the 1's and game experience should only make him better as the season progresses.

Lastly, how good is the Eagles OLine? I watched half of the GB game and most of the Detroit game and the OL didn't look that good. Why throw Kolb in there to get his head bashed in again when Vick would be a better fit considering his mobility?

That said, I'm interesting in seeing what'll happen when Vick blows a game and everyone in Philly is calling for Kolb.

Because the whole idea of using (wasting) a 2nd round pick, trading McNabb and giving Kolb a contract extension was for him to become the starter of this team. I think everyone understood the Eagles weren't going to be a contender in 2010, so this was the year to see what Kolb could do for a whole season, not 1 half of football.

Starting Vick for the remainder of this season will be a waste when he bolts after this year. I'll be surprised if the Eagles resign him. If they didn't have any faith in Kolb (which is pretty obvious now), they should have just let McNabb finish out his contract and spend money to fill the holes on the defense and offensive line. They would have been a contender then.

I understand what you're saying. I guess it comes down to philosophy.

I can understand people saying, "screw this season, let's get Kolb experience and build this team over the next couple years."

And at the same, I can understand people saying, "Let's give the team to Kolb next season and see how far we can get with Vick this season."

I just don't think it's that easy to give up on the now for the future. There is a lot of demand and pressure to win right now. The media nor the majority of the public are willing to wait and let teams build for the future. If you don't win now then you face a lot of scrutiny.

This is funny, but I heard Sal Pal on Mike & Mike this morning talking about how he's looking into whether or not the Eagles are going to now trade Kolb.
