[Super Bowl XLV] Green Bay Packers (13-6) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (14-4)

When this matchup was first set I thought "At least the Packers made it. I don't know if they can win it though". But the more I think about it, the more I think the Packers will be able to win this game. All Packers fanboyism aside, I think the Packers have the perfect team to beat the Steelers and this is why:

1. The Pittsburgh defense is built to stop the run and they are probably the best at it. Unfortunately, the Packers really don't rely on their running game. They haven't all season and they have still been able to win games.

2. The Pittsburgh secondary is okay. If it wasn't for Mr. Hair, the secondary would be pretty bad. Unfortunately for the Steelers he can't be everywhere at once, and if Rodgers gets the time he needs he should be able to shred that secondary with 4 and 5 wr sets.

3. Given how bad Pouncey's injury looked I'll be very surprised if he plays. Without him that offensive line is in big trouble and they will have their hands full with BJ Raji and Cullen Jenkins pressuring up the middle and Clay on the outside.

4. I don't think Pittsburgh can put up the points Green Bay can, especially on the fast track in the dome.

Given those 4 points, I really think Green Bay is going to win this game. I wouldn't be surprised if it got out of hand like the Atlanta game either, but I'm not counting on it with Pittsburgh's proven defense and Big Ben.

I've heard Pouncey has already been ruled out for the game. Word is he has a high-ankle sprain that will take 3-6 weeks to heal.

I gotta be honest, I'm a little worried about Rodgers and company. He's been the best QB against the blitz all season...on the flip side Big Ben has been the 3rd best against the blitz as well. The more I size these two teams ups the more similarities I find. Outside of the Steelers run game and the Packers corners, I feel both teams are near identical. That's just what I think. If I didn't have a vested interest in the game I think it would be very difficult to pick the winner and/or final scores in this one.

That's my final prediction. Too good defenses in a championship game... should be high scoring.
