Thanks for the update. The fastest I've seen Whitfield's 40 time is 4.37. Can't remember what I rated him. But I will jack his acceleration to 99.

Taking a couple days of from the roster stuff. Going to work on my college football novel for a while. I do these rosters when I experience writer's block. It helps to clear the mechanism. I usually don't write during football season. I call it my sabbatical. But I've finally decided to do this College Football novel that's been kicking around in my head for as long as I can remember. Maybe an overdose of football will help me through. All ready started watching games from my 80s and 90s VHS collection. That's my pre-season ritual. As is playing the hell out of this game. I think I may even use teambuilder for my fictional teams and use those games as a basis for the action in then novel. The auto name feature will name a boatload of characters.

Thanks man.I'm going to get back to them. A guy is helping me convert my 30 Year Roster Set that I made for last years game. There is a crude version up. the gamer tag is artd01. thats a zero not an o. Florida State (as you can imagine) has one of the best teams on the set. Only behind Tennessee. And its not by much, their separation. Biggest difference between the 2 is TE. FSU never really had a game changing player at that position.Miami's team is good on paper but for some reason, they play like total shit on the field. Don't ask me why. If you go to the 30 year set thread you'll see all the teams I've done. Not sure about sliders. I played a half and the sliders I was using need to be tweaked. The running game was too explosive and the passing game was big thumbs down.

But I do play the game different than most people. I control the offenses for both teams.

What kinds of problems were you having?

I do suggest to use 0 threshold. I found actual 40 times for 85 percent of the players and applied Playmakers speed chart.

The other 15 percent, I used Playmakers DNA method by finding a modern player from Madden that had a similar skill-set and used that as a launching pad.

Here's an explanation of his approach:
This will be my new Alumni thread for NCAA 11 since the traffic in the 09/10 thread was starting to make things too difficult to keep up with in terms of new teams and players being added to the already existing rosters......

For those unfamiliar with the Alumni rosters....they are created using former great players from that that school only. However, these are not Classic rosters so you won't fine any Team/School restricted to a particualr year and not all of the great players will make the rosters because I like to mix in young talent with older talent in order for the rosters to have a life span of 3-4 years in Dynasty mde.

Old School players are rated based on tendencies and likeness of any current player in the NFL today that i think mirrors that players skill set. This is what I call "Player DNA" which you will see me reference a lot with in this thread after a player is created

For Example if I'm creating the following players Dick Butkus, Troy Aikman or Mike Singletary I would use the following player ratings from Madden Football to capture their on field tendencies.

Butkus-Junior Seau
Singletary-Ray Lewis
Aikman-Carson Palmer

Not sure what is going to happen with the future of this series......but I think it's great that we will have several different classic roster sets to use just in case EA gives up on this game like they did the NCAA March Madness series. I plan on editing the heck out of this game hoping to create two separate rosters file the 1990's Alumni file and finish up on the original one created from NCAA 11 ported over to NCAA 14. Grab your 30 year rosters and then grab billysims 1970's set. That way if EA decides to shut down servers and stop making this game I'll have enough quality old school rosters saved to enjoy for the next 5 years LOL!

We seem to maybe be approaching the end of the line with this series. But 14 is a keeper no matter at happens for all the reasons you mention.

Glad to hear you are moving ahead with 90s. Although your 11 alumni Rosters are the greatest classic rosters in sports gaming, I think that 90s set is going to be amazing..

Thanks man....I'm hoping to add about 20 more teams to the NCAA 11 Original Alumni rosters pushing the Final version up to 80 total teams and then I will get back to working on the 90's Alumni file hoping to complete 60 teams for that era all from the Big Conference. I was looking over the Alumni rosters today and totally forgot that I had created a LA Tech team with Terry Bradshaw. The I just wrapped up a game vs Arkansas and the kicker was Pat Summerall another guy who I had totally forgot was on the file. These are older players that EA won't even give us in Madden or NCAA I guess because of all the legal issues and stuff.

No hex editing. A guy on OS did some hex edits. But I did not utilized them.
