Again, looking at him like a normal QB is missing the point. If Kyle Orton or Alex Smith had been the QB, it would qualify as a "good" win. Tebow, with his history, aura, and unorthadox style of play made it an epic, memorable moment.

I understand that this is precisely why some people don't like him, but Tim Tebow is not Alex Smith. He just isn't. The comparisons don't work.

So, if I'm understanding you correctly, because he isn't a traditional WHITE QB, we are going to look at him in a different light and anything he does outside of "normal" QB play is exceptional?

Also, are you saying that, if Tebow has an average career, since he's not a traditional QB, we should celebrate his career as if he was a great QB?

Tyler Hansbrough? Same reliance on brute force, same relative lack of technical skills, and the same over-glorification.

Only difference is we're still not pretending T-Hanz is a good pro.

The second he got into the league there wasn't a soul with a brain saying he'd be anything more than he was. He was decent during the playoff series against the Bulls but it didn't cause anyone to call him anything more. He's a mediocre NBA player and always will be. No reason to lie to ourselves.

It's funny, I have a house guest staying with me who is a Dolphins fan (just picture these totally awesome NFL Sundays in the W2BTD household, with Rams & Dolphins football polluting the screen all day), and we were talking during the game about how it was better for Miami that Tebow started, because the Dolphins can't stop the pass, and Orton would have been a less favorable matchup.

But at 15-0, with 5 minutes left, that's when you were worried about Tebow, running around, breaking tackles, making plays.

He's fun to watch, and two weeks in a row he took over games late. I'm not going to shit on the guy or look for reasons to minimize him.

Oh stop it, almost any QB who underachieves or fails to live up to lofty expectations is labeled lazy, or accused of lacking effort. Curtis Painter was never expected to succeed, we are talking about busts and failures here.

He's not a traditional QB period. He doesn't play like Vick or Newton or Cunningham. He's like noting we've seen before. The guy belongs in a 1940's offense.

If anything, Tebow is seen as less skilled and "scrappy" because he's white. But this really isn't about race, unfortunately we are veering that way.

Reminds me of when Vince Young was labeled as a guy who simply finds a way to win yadda yadda yadda. That whole "FINDS A WAY TO WIN" narrative device we apply to quarterbacks is what I have a problem with, not necessarily Tebow.

I don't hate the guy. I don't even dislike him. I enjoy watching him play but I do not enjoy his failures being whitewashed and his mediocrity being boosted to levels of greatness.

It's the new American way. The people find out about something, and want to know more. The demand for something goes up and the coverage for it goes up. The coverage, brought about by the people, becomes too much for them and it becomes polarizing. It's like LeBron James or Lindsay Lohan. Build them up and then break them down. It's a cycle. Fed by ESPN/TMZ and eaten up by the unintelligent masses. But Tebow is rock solid. He's not going to slip up and fall down the wrong path. So they hope for the next best thing; him to fail in the NFL. When is the last time SO many people rooted for someone to fail in the NFL? Meanwhile people seem to be rooting for laptop theif Cam Newton. It's petty and childish. Look at Nahste, he hates Tebow for being an "annoying douche". As if the way he carries himself isn't what got him all the positive press for the last 8 years or so? Then again, that was mostly by unbiased adults, so it's a little different. I also disliked the lack of press for guys like Warrick Dunn who were great human beings but didn't get talked about while jackasses like TO got hyped all the time. But that shouldn't make you bitter towards someone like Tebow getting press for the right reasons. FedEx, you seemingly dislike Tebow for getting "put on a pedastal". Not his actions or his words, but mainly the way he's portrayed in the media. You should be mad at ESPN or yourself for letting their coverage form your opinion of the guy....

Oh, that's not fair, c'mon. He did everything but recover the onside kick and kick the FG. He threw two TD passes, scored the conversion, and made numerous plays with his feet. Don't downplay his contributions.

When he fails, and he will fail badly at some point, it will be amplified just as much as you seem to think his successes are. Probably more. You know that's true.

Ok you aren't trolling. I just wanted to be sure because they way you were talking, it's like you already had his going into the HOF. I agree he's fun to watch but to make comments like "that comeback will be one of the best in franchse history" if very far fetched. Maybe a it'll be a " Top Tim Tebow NFL Career moments" but I would hope that he has a better career than to hope that we have to look at a comeback vs one of the worse teams in the NFL as a defining moment in his career.

(2nd Paragraph) I think that's the issue, because of the way people are looking at him, any little thing he does is blown up. In a few years it will become clear of what type of player he turns out to be and that star will either burn out or shine bright.

For the record, T-Hans is a WAY better pro then Tebow ever will be (in relation) and actually was really coming on as a player last year.

I get where W2B is coming from here, but one of the greatest moments in Bronco history? I know you think people are being cynical but you're being equally as over reactive (is that even a word? I dont know).

And I dont see how we can ignore 55 minutes of absolute ABYSMAL play just because he made a miraculous comeback against possibly the biggest melt down driven team in the league, especially when without even getting an onside kick the whole thing doesnt even happen. What was funny was watching Glen go from "Tebow is doing his job, hes getting us Andrew Luck", to "The LEGEND OF TEBOW BEGINS" within a matter of minutes.

I'm curious out of all the people in here how many of those watched the whole game? Because if you did you would see that the playcalling was basically handcuffing Tebow. They finally started to open things up and all of the sudden he was checking off his receivers and sensing pressure better. You guys need to look at this as what it was, his first start of the year under a new head coach. A start he happened to win and throw a couple late TDs in.

There's QBs whose teams lost on Sunday because they didn't step up yet we're here ripping a guy whose team won their game?

And NAHSTE keeps bringing up Matt Moore out playing Tebow... Is that really on Tebow or the Denver secondary that has been getting torched all season long? We can't give Tebow credit for leading his team to a win but we can bring up Matt Moore having a good day like it had anything to do with him? Your logic confuses me.

I watched the entire game. Play calling does need to be mixed up. Tebow still had a lot of issues tho. I think he can get them worked out. Im excited to see how the rest of the season plays out.

Also Matt Prater missed too makeable FGs in the game. So it wasn't like Denver did nothing offensively prior to the last five minutes.

for this week at least, it feels good to be a Broncos fan again.

Certainly. And you should feel that way. I just wish we could distance ourselves from the "TEBOW IS A WINNER" mentality. The Broncos pulled that out, not Tebow. He played well down the stretch, and while that's obviously better than not playing well, he did not "will" or "lead" his team anywhere. At least not without the contributions of the other 21 guys + the special teamers, along with lots of help from the LOLphins.
