My team won on Sunday, it was exciting as all hell and I had a great time watching it. Tim Tebow was a big reason for that.

That's why I watch sports.

I'm not sure how good he is or what he'll ultimately be, but right now Tebow is a special player and Broncos fans should be enjoying every second of wherever this is going.

And for the record glen, I am not trying to take away your enjoyment. This is a thread about Tim Tebow's merits as a football player, not whether or not Broncos fans should be excited over a win.

Who is anyone else to determine how a fan base should judge their moments? Broncos fans are clearly excited. This was a very memorable moment, and if Tebow does turn out to be something decent, it becomes an epic moment.

I think you are overstating things quite a bit. Which takes us back to why people get annoyed. His achievements are constantly being overstated.

Over analysis.

That was a fantastic comeback.

Nobody remembers or cares that Joe Montana threw a ball directly into Lewis Billups chest that would have sealed the Bengals win, they care that he made the drive at the end. Nobody remembers that Kurt Warner completed one pass the entire 4th Q of SB 34, they remember the Isaac Bruce TD.

Tebow made several big plays on those final two drives, and got the job done. It's crazy how negative people are being.

Again, judging him as a normal QB is missing the point. The theme here, is Tebow is a guy who has no business succeeding, but always does. I expect the crappy passing stats, that's part of the charm here. I hope he never develops as a passer, that would be boring.

It doesn't matter how bad the Dolphins are. Means nothing. Both teams are bad and going nowhere. Doesn't take away from the moment. It was great stuff. No Broncos fan will ever forget that game. And when they think about it, none of them will think to themselves, "yeah, but those Dolphins were 0-5 and we finished 5-11".

Can't we just watch sports for what it is, and have fun, without beating everything down and minimizing it? Why must we tear everything down?

I can't speak for others, but I'm not. I give Tebow credit and I've been quoted as saying that I only dislike him because he went to UF, but you are going overboard stating that comeback was one of the best in Bronco's history. It was a good(ugly) win. I understand Bronco fans being happy, hell I would too to have some kind of hope but again, I think you went a little wild with that comment.

That's like me saying the comeback Alex Smith had against the Seahawks in 06 was one of the best in 49ers history (http://web.yesnetwork.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20061215&content_id=1415444&oid=35007&vkey=9). Great at the time? Yes, but it had no bearing whatsoever on a pretty much forgotten season, and I'm sure when people think of all time moments in 49ers history, that game wont be near the top of the list.

a) black athletes are natural athletes and we're routinely disappointed if they don't maximize their "potential"

b) scrappy white players are routinely praised for maximizing their limited potential

Again, looking at him like a normal QB is missing the point. If Kyle Orton or Alex Smith had been the QB, it would qualify as a "good" win. Tebow, with his history, aura, and unorthadox style of play made it an epic, memorable moment.

I understand that this is precisely why some people don't like him, but Tim Tebow is not Alex Smith. He just isn't. The comparisons don't work.
