Lawler and Cole are horrible, awful and take the show down the crapper. It's amazing how a horrible announce team can ruin what would be a fine show.

Lawler should be let go, he serves no purpose on the mic anymore. His phoniness exudes from his mouth.

Perhaps just a nitpick but it looks so stupid when they're on camera and Cole is in a suit while Lawler gets to wear his own t-shirts. WTF? Either have both in nice attire or have Lawler in his gimmick (king tights) or let both dress down.

For NFL games, you don't see Dick Enberg in a suit while Phil Simms is wearing a workout shirt.

The Gogo Plata was created by BJJ Black Belt Nino Schembri, in the orignal version you would reach over there head and grab your foot, harder to pull off in a MMA fight because of the sweat and not wearing a gi, but this was the orignal verison where you transition from the oma plata position

Nick Diaz was the first in America to lock on the gogo plata in Pride against Gomi, first it was thought you needed great flexibility to pull off this hold, but since than heavyweight fighters Brad Imes and the Undertaker have pulled it off showing the effectiveness of the move even in the bigger weight classes

When Taker used it to finish matches, it came from necessity since he couldn't pick up guys like The Great Khali and Big Daddy V for a Chokeslam or the Tombstone Piledriver...

That being said, in the context of Pro Wrestling, the Deadman co-opting an MMA move which could theoretically put out ANYONE (aside from Dean Malenko and Chris Jericho... both masters of a thousand to a thousand and four holds a piece) is much more impressive to me.

...and at least he didn't gank the move from another pro like before when he used the Dragon Sleeper or like now when CM Punk used to finish matches with the Anaconda Vice.

WWE can go fuck themselves. Moving Shelton Benjamin to ECW, only for his debut to the opening match that lasts like 2 minutes. Don't know much about that Yoshi Tatsu, but they could have at least given him an opponent that wasn't right out of development. And why not bring in Low Ki to go against Shelton? Am I the only that thinks that would've been a HUGE debut for both guys?

Uncle Vince doesn't think Shelton will ever get over (and I think HHH has a hand in it too, for some odd reason), so the guy's on permanent buried-status.

What erks me is that they keep him on the roster like some toy that they don't want to share with other companies... but then again, "The Gold Standard" might like the checks he's getting so who knows.

As for Low Ki, he's only relevant to ROH fans and those who remember him from his 'XXX' days in TNA (when the fed actually meant a shit). Dude's lucky to be on contract status with the E.

Some of these indy wrestlers must be totally delusional. The redhead guy would be lucky to get a job setting up rings in the WWE.

I feel sorry for some of those guys, actually thinking they have a shot at doing it for a living.

Then again, the WWE employed that Colin Delaney for a few weeks. I guess anything is possible.

I have zero problem with smaller guys succeeding in pro wrestling, but they better at least be well built and bring more to the table than the ability to withstand 15 concussions.

I will never make a living off of wrestling, ever. But I can exercise my creativity thought wrestling the way others can by painting or singing or playing a insterment. Vince will never pick up the phone to give me a call but im fine with that its a outlet for me.

Yeah and the truth is that every one and there brother being in the ring hurts the chance for ligit guys to make a buck.

first of all the more guys out there the more times you "split the pie"

also guys that should not be in the ring could be, a good ref, a good manager, a good announcer or in most cases a good Fan. if that 75% stoped working on shitty indy shows and started paying for a ticket at a good show, more guys could pay there bills just working the indies.

I think it was Scott D'Amore who wrote a regular column for SLAM wrestling (www.canoe.ca/wrestling) who wrote that he hated the indy kids who worked for free and had no right even being there ... and worse, costing real indy wrestlers spots on a card, because the real wrestlers expect to be paid.

I can respect the real indy guys like some of those ROH guys and what-not, because they take the time to get in shape, have some actual talent, etc... They stay where they are, for the most part, because they're simply too small or bland (Bryan Danielson) to get a real shot at the WWE.

I don't really disrespect Danielson, but IMO if he really wants to make it big, he has to do the things I mentioned.
But a case could be made he's the #1 indy wrestler in the world outside of Japan right now.

Apparently the E debuted four guys out of development on ECW tonight. So that explains part of the switch. Interested to see Reks and O'Shaunessy on the show now.

Yoshitatsu is Naofumi Yamamoto, who has worked for New Japan Pro Wrestling in the past. He's been under a WWE developmental deal in September 2008, a signing that received attention from the Associated Press at the time, played up as WWE expanding its global horizons with the signing of a Japanese talent.

Abraham Washington, who debuted a new ECW talk show segment tonight, has been working in FCW as the developmental promotion's general manager Abraham Saddam (later Obama) Washington, obviously a takeoff of President Barack Obama. Real name Brian Jossie, he had been training at former WWE developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling. He was among several talents signed to developmental deals by John Laurinaitis during a September 2008 visit.

Sheamus is Irish native Sheamus O'Shaunessy. He was trained at Larry Sharpe's Monster Factory and worked regularly in Ireland before being signed to WWE developmental in April 2007. He had been working dark matches and house shows for the Raw brand in recent months. While in Florida Championship Wrestling, he was FCW champion. He's received some media attention in his native Ireland for signing with WWE and has done some acting as well.

FCW champion Tyler Reks (Gabrielle Tuft), who debuted in a backstage vignette as a dreadlocked California surfer type is legitimately from California. He was trained at Rick Bassman's UPW school by the late Mike Bell. He was signed to a WWE developmental deal in February 2008, just a year after he wrestled for the first time. Of late, he's been in the top of the FCW mix. He does a number of high flying moves including a springboard moonsault that's dubbed "The Big Kahuna."
