Lou Albano played a bigger role in the Rock n' Wrestling Era than many remember. His feud with Cyndi Lauper got the WWF mainstream exposure on MTV and helped launch the promotion to a new level. RIP Lou.

TNA Super Impact thoughts:

This was by far the best iMPACT ive seen ever. Everything had action in it, every promo ended in a fight, every match was top quality. Angle vs Styles was one of the greatest matches ive ever seen, seriously. I just hated that it ended in a draw... but 20 mins of the best TNA has was awesome to watch. Every move, every bump, was just so satisfying i didnt want the match to end.

The Lauren Kidnapping i thought could have been done better. I thought once Richards and Foley trapped Abyss they should have beaten him worse than 2 bat shots, and scrapping of the barb wire on his arm. Daff is fucking hot tho.

Same with the British Invasion and Eric Young. When they beat down Hernandez, there should have been more. Sorta like Austin beating down the Rock at Wrestlemania 17. Constant caine shots, insanity, good stuff.

Overall i give the 1st 2 hours 20 mins a

10/10

The last 40 were just extended promos of Bound For Glory Matches.

Shane McMahon is quitting the WWE. A surprise, but not a huge shock, given that Steph has been put in a position of power and he really hasn't.

Oh wow. Damn. I always thought Shane would be a great head man of the federation. I heard he was kind of an asshole, but still always seemed decently level headed.

Basically seals the deal that the WWE is going to suck forever...

Always heard the Shane was a good guy and well-liked. Stephanie, on the other hand, is very much like Vince - controlling, abrasive, and in-your-face.

Shane seemed to get the wrestling aspect and want to keep that, where as Stephanie seems to support Vince's vision of becoming pure entertainment.

I'm sure more details will surface soon on why he's resigning. I don't believe it's just because he wants to pursue other things. Something must have happened.

Nevertheless, he seemed like a cool guy. Always remember some of the crazy jumps he used to do. For a guy that (I don't think?) had much training as a wrestler, he was pretty dang good out there back in the day...better than most of the stiffs they have out there today.

Could be. But I don't know that he would have to actually resign to do that. Why not take a leave of absence or something? That would be a different from Linda having to resign.

It probably comes down to a little bit of everything...

Want to help mom with her senate bid.
Want to pursue other things, maybe with his wife...who is in the movie biz.
Want to get out of wrestling because it looks like his sister is the one who will get the push for Vince's job when he hangs 'em up...vision of company isn't what he'd prefer.
Bored of it and wants to get out of the business he has known nothing but.

Who knows...probably all of the above.

Steph was always pegged as the heir apparent. Shane handled alot of the business end, while Steph has always been front and center in the creative end.

Steph is a Vince clone--she lives and breathes the WWE, and wrestling does not exist outside of the WWE bubble in her eyes, just like dad.

The man who can save wrestling form sports entertainment, is the man most hardcore fans can't stand--HHH. Unlike his wife, unlike his father in law, he has an appreciation for wrestling's history, and looks up to people like Ric Flair, Harley Race, Killer Kowalski, etc.

It will be HHH's company one day, and it will be interesting to see if his influence on Steph alters the direction a bit. But that day is a long way off, because Vince will never retire and will run the company his was until his final breathe.

I've said this before - perhaps not here - but I think Triple H will actually do pretty well booking the WWE. Once he's no longer active in the ring, at least - that would go much as it has for folks like Dusty Rhodes, Ole Anderson, Kevin Nash, etc.

Posted this over on The Arcade, BestBuy is running a deal where if you buy Smackdown vs. Raw 2010, you can get an eligible WWE DVD for $5. Decent deal at first look considering most WWE DVDs are 25-30$, but this also includes the 60$ Anthology volumes, which has the 5 years of Royal Rumble, or SummerSlam, etc. Just thought I'd throw it out for you since you guys would have (maybe) more interest in it.

Exactly... I'm really hoping he hangs it up relatively soon to worry about the booking side of things. I think he'd do quite well in that role when he's not booking himself.

This TNA PPV is making recent WWE PPVs look like WM 17.

Foley has Abyss pinned, replacement ref runs in, counts to 3, bell doesn't ring, and about 3-4 seconds after the ref makes the count, Abyss "kicks out" and the match goes on.

The match before, the ref calls the match because Joe is "passed out", without trying to actually check and see.

Absolutely horrible. I didn't see the matches prior to those but from what I understand it's a complete botchfest.

Daniels died In the x division match.

Foley and Abyss did have a count botch but that doesnt tell the whole story of the match. It was pretty entertaining. Daff getting choke slammed thru the barb wire thing was Fucked up.

MEM dead? Probably. Nash Loses Legends title to Eric Young, Booker T and Steiner lose the tag titles to more World Elite members, the British invasion. Booker t was stretchered out leaving Steiner to go bat shit insane on everyone. Suplexing everyone, hitting them with ladders, and going through tables. Angle also got up and shook Morgans hand to show respect. Joe lost. MEM looks dead.

Kim Couture hit Tara, Kayfabe or not, in the knockout title match. More on that Thursday

Sting got chants of "please dont go!" and "one more year!". Prett cool stuff.

Lots of "this is awesome! *clap clap clap clap clap* Chants and a enjoyable show.
