Penn is the man at 155, Kenny tried to stay far away or real close, lol @ going for TD after TD and Penn goes for 1 and drops him

I think GSP would give Silva a hell of a fight.. and due to my GSP bias.. I think he'd beat Silva.. but he could have a non-title match with him, then return to the 170 class and resume his dominance there.

The fight needs to happen IMO.

What people don't realize, is Silva is a significantly larger man than GSP. To the point that it wouldnt be practical to make the fight.

GSP always says the right things, but from what I understand, is very cold on the idea of fighting Silva.

Forrest gets the win against And1, if you want to see what it will look like, go watch Randy vs Vitor 1 for better understanding, Forrest will push And1 around, smash him into the cage, take him down, grind him out, make it ugly, Silva wont be able to work his clinch on a much taller fighter

True, for now at least. There's a lot of great fights for Anderson at 205, but it'd be nice to see the two square off sometime down the line.

as a casual fan and in a house full of casual fans besides a few diehards this PPV was fing terrible. This is the main reason why i hate having to pay for this. WTF did i just watch?

He seriously made Griffin look like a child. It was so one sided it wasn't funny.

what made it more shocking is forrest is considered one of the toughest guys in the sport, and rightfully so beating shogun and rampage.. i expected silva to win but nowhere near that easy.

outside of the two main events (penn-florian wasnt exactly the most exciting fight either) and the wack stoppage in the amir fight, the fights were pretty tame and lackluster. i wouldnt expect a casual fan to be impressed by this card.

was riley-nelson bumped from the undercard or was that the one they choose as the swing bout? cause if so the undercard must of been pretty bad, and reading the recaps it seems like thats the case. all the fights went to decisions outside of lennox - villefort which was stopped in the third round from a cut and sotiropoulos defeating roop with an armbar

I know that the casual fans look for the KO and dont appreciate good technical fights like the one GSP had at 100. So i dont understand why people pay the money if they arent real big fans. But for guys that watch it a lot you become to appreciate a guy who just does everything right and wins by decision.

But lately the cards havent really been good for the casual fan. This one really only had me hyped for Silva-Griffin. And in 100 you can say that the casual fan wouldnt be impressed with that either besides Hendo destroyin Bis, and i guess Lesnars speech.

So until the casual fan becomes someone like me and can appreciate a guy doing everything right to give him a chance to win aka GSP in 100, i think the casual fan will be regretful of payin all that money for the PPV

I don't agree with what you are saying about GSP. He is well respected by casual and hardcores alike, and he's a top draw, so that proves it. The crowd was going apeshit for all of his takedows at 100. If that fight was a prelim with two no names, they'd have been boo'd out of the building.

All the casual fan cares about is star power.

Star power and a good story can overcome all. Randy Couture vs. Tim Sylvia is a legendary fight, with the storybook ending, with tons of crowd heat and emotion. It's remembered as a landmark moment in UFC. And the fight itself sucked.

Tito Ortiz & Ken Shamrock broke all sorts of records with two terrible fights a few years ago, and it didn't drive away fans. If anything, those two fights helped create the current boom.

Don't get me wrong, fight quality is important, and it helps, but the casual fan is more interested in seeing who they precieve as a star as opposed to seeing great fighters have great fights.

Kimbo Slice vs. James Thompson is the highest rated and most viewed fight in North American MMA history.

This game is about star power and creating stars. Fight quality means next to nothing.
