I will say this...this thread has me more hyped for the fight than I was before.

I'm still not buying it, though. Especially with a free DREAM show a few hours later.

Cover charge + 18 wings + Diet Coke (I don't drink) + whatever the fiance decides to get drunk on = more than just buying the damn PPV and watching from my couch, and not dealing with drunken Texas A&M students blabbering and asking "Where's Chuck Liddell, man??"

Your BWW has a cover charge? My friends and I usually share 50 wings and we all get a soda. Costs like $6 to watch it. Made a lot of friends watching these fights at BWW as well.

Wow, they make a killing on that then. I've been to 4 different BWW to watch UFC PPV's and have never been charged a cover.

I like watching at home anyway, it's quiet, I can really watch...i've been really picky with which ones I order the last few months. Buying a house changes things, when I was renting I bought everything. This show has no undercard, i'll pass and look for a stream.

And like I said DREAM IN A CAGE is the same night, I can get my fix with that.

These places get charged per square foot. For a bigger spot, it can cost them upwards of $10k to air a PPV.

BWW isn't a bar though, I've never been to a restaurant that had a cover charge. That sucks. Without Rampage/Evans this is probably going to end up being the best card of the year, so it's easily worth the 50 bucks or however much you're splitting it.

Anyway here's my picks:

Stevenson over Fisher
Rothwell over Cain - I can see Big Ben getting a decision here, Cain has really only been tested in one fight and has yet to prove that he's capable of finishing guys. He won't be able to get Rothwell down and pound him as easily as he did everyone else. So I think Ben can outpoint Cain in the standup while nullifying his ground game.

With the main event I think I'm going to take the lame route and not make a pick, I just want to sit back and watch the fireworks, not really rooting for either guy. I do think Shogun has everything it takes to beat Machida and if he doesn't get it done then I doubt anyone else will anytime soon. Assuming Anderson refuses to fight him. But, again Machida will be tested, and that streak of never losing a round will end.

word is that Shogun is walking around at 207.5 right now, maybe that means he will be in great shape or maybe it could mean he will be to light and Machida will push him around

Since Noble was looking for my reason why I believe Machida will win, its this. I think hes going to use Shogun's aggressive style against him. The way Machida pin-points his strikes and avoids getting hit himself is going to allow him to catch Shogun coming at him aggressively, IMO. Shogun may give Machida his greatest test to date, and to be fair hes never been finish by strikes in his career, but I think that changes this weekend. I think Machida can pick him apart for a decision, or he can catch him coming strong and hit him with a mean counter. Shogun's best chance to win, IMO, is to work Machida on the ground and either try to force a sub (not likely) or grind out a decision win. I just dont see the wreckless style being an advantage against such a patient and elusive fighter like Machida, who waits for, and takes advantage of the right time to unleash his fists.
