Apparently, McMahon wanted for WM a match between Brock and Taker, title for title. Obviously, we can recognize the epic fail in such an idea from Vince. Brock's UFC contract would definitely not allow him to do any pro wrestling without permission.

They lost tens of millions (somewhere north of $40 million) on the Senate campaign. Going into WM, they need something extra to make people interested.

Why would Dana agree to let one of his biggest stars go do fake wrestling?

Assume you're talking about Brock.

You know how restrictive UFC deals are. It's not like Brock can just say, hey Dana, I'm going back to WWE for a couple of months, I'll let you know when I want to fight.

Dana would have his ass in court so fast, Brock would think it's WWE Legal.


Now everyone is thinking of what heat is between Taker and Brock.

True it was probably closer to 5-10 million but still big money. Perhaps 30 million is highly exaggerated, but im sure Vince is willing to throw a large chunk of money to make the fight happen AND have his guy win.. that would have to be part of the deal.

PWI said there was heat between them because when Brock decided to leave, he was about to put over Taker over the next few months. Can't remember Meltzer talking about that, but who knows.

I believe Taker may have been working a bit, but there was something off about his reactions.

They probably had something planned post fight...but when Brock lost, he was pissed, when he walked by, 'Taker asked if he still wanted to do something, Brock gave the "do I look like I want to do something" look so Undertaker improvised.

I just watched the Paul Sass fight that was a prelim. Very interesting strategy that was Aoki-like. Sass fully committed to the takedown, but instead of trying to finish he would immediately pull guard and start working for submissions. He didn't throw strikes or clincj at all. His opponent would escape and go back standing and he'd just go for the takedown, pull guard and start working again. I'm interested if such a strategy against some of the better wrestlers in the division, but the guy must have some damn good guard game to have such a singular strategy.
