The part where you leave Elena behind? Because I think no matter what you do they see you as soon as you walk to the left so it's just balls to the wall gunfighting.

Or are you talking about the stealth sections through the warehouses? Just sneak up on people and snap their necks and use your silenced pistol whenever possible. The only part that game me trouble was the very last part because I kept restarting wanting to go through completely stealthy but at the very least the last two guys will spot you because you can't take them both out at once. So just try to methodically take them out one at a time, and quickly because if they spot a body the alarm is triggered.

 

Yep....that damn last part. Kinda wish it was like MGS where you could hide their fuckin bodies.....pain in the ass

What up everyone. Didn't have time to come home and post my thoughts until now. We signed NDAs, but Arne just gave me the go ahead to post some thoughts, so here they are before the hypnotism pills they gave me wore off --

First off, the guys at ND were totally awesome and seemed to be fully genuine in wanting to get a fix together as soon as possible. I sat down and played with a couple tweaked versions of the new controls, and they were definitely more in line with the MP and UC2. They seem to have fixed much of the dead zone problems, and are adjusting the sensitivity so you can go even higher than what 100% is now. They were literally making changes ON THE FLY as we played, and asking us what we thought of them. They would tweak things like sticky radius, sensitivity, etc.

Also, they mentioned motion blur is definitely getting fixed for SP. Very cool. They mentioned more about a patch coming out very soon, but again, Arne has told me not to give anything more specific away.

All in all, I can say that while bringing Gaffers in might be a partial PR move, it didn't feel that way at all. From everything I could gather, they were genuine. I asked if they didn't notice the difference in control themselves, like many gaffers have been wondering, and they said they literally would sit employees down and give them different versions and they would not be able to tell. If the control code was messed up at some point, I don't know, but they are not taking these criticisms lightly at all.

Overall, it was super cool to see how things like this get adjusted and tweaked.

Anyway just repeating how awesome Naughty Dog were about this whole thing. They really are putting a lot of effort to get the aiming issue resolved.

My buddy and I spent majority of our time there chatting with Justin Richmond about the controls. He had us play a level with the old controls, and replay it with the new controls. To be honest, the new controls did fix a lot of issues, but the big issue we agreed on was that the aim assist was too "sticky" and it caused a lot of the weird issues that we're complaining about. I felt that they still need to tune the precise movement while aiming even with the new controls as slightly aiming the analog stick would still cause weird acceleration issues that had you misjudge your shot.

It also is awesome that Naughty Dog knew about the missing motion blur effect before i even said anything and that they're already working on patching it back in. Love me some motion blur specifically the per-object kind

Yeah, the whole time we were there it was surreal. It really was amazing how starstruck my buddy and I were about being inside their studio. I mean this is the house of Crash, Jak, and Drake lol.

Well beat this tonight 9hrs 48 treasures. Guess nothing else I can do with it since I don't have an online game code

 

The ending was very similar to UC2 to me the running away from a crumbling building and getting saved in the end.

Finished the game on Normal with 67 treasures in 9 Hours, 40 mins, 44 seconds.

 

All this hubbub about Marlowe and she get eaten up by a quicksand pit.

While they tried to pull the "2nd in Command becomes the main boss" bit like they did in UC1, it was nice having the last bit be a gritty fight... QTEs aside.

Also, I knew they could do away with Sully like they almost did with Cutter because of the dynamic they were shooting for (pun unintended).

...however, it sucked that they didn't have at least more build-up between Drake and Elena other than the implications that they were engaged at some point before Drake dipped out on another grand adventure.

I'd give the game at least an 8 if I had to number it based on the tried-and-true UC formula even if the set pieces were a little haphazard...

Especially the points that required you to do an exact set of sequences or your ass was gonna die.

Still, good game and I can't wait for more.

I agree Jay. Looking back on it the story was good not great. Visuals were amazing though. And the multiplayer is pretty sweet

I think Twigg is going through on hard now. I think most everybody did normal for their first play through. I'll be starting up my 2nd play through soon and will go with hard.

Cousin Montto and I just did work on that last co-op scenario. We both had about 20k each when all was said and done and I reached level 19.

Im really starting to hate the direction naughty dog took with multiplayer

its the battle of the haves and the have nots b/c the higher you are the better weapons you get and the greater advantage you have

there is no equal playlist where its true skill vs true skill, instead you have those who have better guns oftentime getting the jump on others b/c where as a 5 shots from them will kill you it takes a whole clip to kill them

I miss uncharted 2 and starting out with either a fal or ak and working yourself up from there with weapons on the map

Play on Hardcore online (just guns, no perks).

The skill argument only applies when you're playing against those who ONLY play UC MP and/or are really good at shooters.

I can't just say "get better" because you either have the reflexes or you don't to have said skill so...

I'd say enjoy what you can out it while you can before UC4 hits in a few years.

I agree. Like I said before, the matchmaking is fucked. So not only do you have to square off against players who are much higher rank than you most of the time, but they also have all of the better weapons and upgrades unlocked as well.
