Mmmmm.....I don't know about all that. No one knew what he'd be like when/if he came back. Anything contrary is just the usual jumping the gun. Then, if the Colts drafted 10th or 15th, he's suddenly not "tossed aside" anymore. And he got tons of overtures from Miami, Denver, and Arizona, too much to think anyone was calling him trash. It was hardly like Drew Brees being signed by the Saints after everyone else involved said "no thanks".

Peyton is back to where a healthy Peyton is supposed to be, and the media is making it out like his head legit fell off 8 months ago or something. I suppose I shouldn't really expect better, though.

The Broncos signed him before he could throw a pass 20 yards... That was in March.

They cut into the guy's neck 4 times in the past year and now he's back to staring down 300 lb. lineman and leading the hottest team in the league. If you go back and look at a lot of press surrounding Manning's comeback most people thought it was a given he would miss games this year.

The only PT Brock Osweiler has gotten has been to take some knees when Manning has locked games up.

That's just what I heard repeated over and over.. That his ball was wobbly... The first big hit he takes he's done... No way he plays all 16... All Denver is doing on offense is dinking and dunking...

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah...

I remember being in the CB here when he threw the three 1Q INTs against Atlanta as the VSN football experts were throwing dirt on his career. But there was also a groundswell of support for Matt Flynn to supplant Russell Wilson about two months ago so that tells you all you need to know about the VSN football experts.

Okay, maybe not everyone, but most. I do know the Broncos faced the toughest schedule in football to start the season and had the easiest to close out the season, so there really wasn't much of an uproar over the mediocre start, as most believed they could easily get on track to string together wins to close out the season.

Either way my point still holds true. Denver was a good team last year with Tebow. Minny was turrible last year.

Adrian Peterson is literally carrying a team by himself in one of the toughest divisions in football, with wins over Chicago, San Francisco and Houston. They were 3-13 last year, this team is not good at all without Adrian Peterson.

I would hardly call that carrying the team to victory.

Find a Denver win that Manning wasn't essential in and we'll talk.

I can't think of a Broncos game this year where I said to myself "phew, the defense/running game/special teams really won that one for us".

You guys forget what a hot start Ponder, Harvin and Rudolph got off to this season while the Vikes were easing Peterson back. For the first four weeks of 2012 the most explosive Viking offensively was Percy Harvin, not AP.

That's not the way I remember it..

At 2-3 going into that MNF game in San Diego all the talk was about SD putting a stranglehold on the division by getting a two game lead.

Then they jumped out to the big lead at the half and everyone on the HT show and here was writing 2012 Broncos obituary.

You guys all have terrible terrible memories.

We are probably talking about 2 different sides of the argument and using it to validate out beliefs. I remember hearing discussions about the weak schedule to close out the year being a benefit/advantage. I am not sure about what you are talking about. I'm sure there were people saying what you have said, but there was also talk about it on the other side as well.

That's all that I heard on ESPN radio the whole drive down there to see the game.

The Broncos were trailing by a game in the division, looked sluggish at the beginning of games on offense and were being exploited on defense. Manning's passes were wobbly and he'd being running a ton of bubble screens.

Hell I was worried too. And hearing the pundits throw dirt on my team for the two hour trek to San Diego didn't help.

There's a thing called game managing, even for running backs. He kept the clock moving and helped sustain scoring drives. Ridley had Tom Brady as his QB and ran for 23 yards on 9 carries vs. the 49ers, and coughed it up twice.

Since you want to use stats with no context, Let's see how Peyton did vs. the best teams in the league....

Falcons - Throws game away early with three picks
Texans- Completes 50% of his passes
Patriots - 7 points in the first half

Advantage Peterson according to the 'stats'.
 
MVP will be Manning and AP for comeback player of the year. Pretty obvious..

I know Ryan won't win it but I'm just happy he's a candidate for it.

LOL what did he finish with against the Pats and Falcons?

He got his team back into both of those games on his arm IIRC.

Not to mention the Texans team that Manning faced had Brian Cushing and was one of the top defensive teams in the league.. not the D that got lit up by Chad Henne for 4 bills plus a couple weeks ago Mr. Context.

Call me out for lack of context then throw first half stats in my face.. please.
