Like I said.. show me a Denver win that didn't revolve around Manning and we'll talk. I can't give the guy the award for MVP of the league when he wasn't even the MVP of his own team for the first quarter of the season.

He finished with two losses, and used prevent based defenses to pick apart one of the worst pass defense teams in the NFL and a Falcons team that already had the game locked. Yawn.

Not a fan of the Brett Favre syndrome where people credit a QB for falling down 21-0 after failing to lead drives, and then they just fall short. How about next time, you don't let your team get in a huge hole.

Peyton is a legend, but you can't argue that he didn't take 100% advantage of a cream puff schedule to put up a 13-3 record. I'd take him/Brady/Rodgers any day of the week, but they were not the best player in the NFL this year. What your blinders won't show you is that one of the greatest seasons in NFL history is going on up north and deserves to be recognized more than an a pro bowl caliber season. It's almost like you get offended if your guy isn't #1. He's had a hell of a year, you are SB contenders, that should be enough.

I forgot the Adrian Peterson's were supposed to go 16-0 this year. Amazed how much you'll shit on a legendary season just to get your player an award.

I would do Matt Ryan MVP for the season. But not the playoffs(well yet anyways) If it were not for him we would be trash right now... Go back to the Carolina game where we were on the 1 with like a minute left. Drove down to score the GW FG. All passes. Michael Turner is fucking terrible and we don't really have a running game. The Falcons team had the game locked? Denver was one play away from getting the ball back on offense and Manning would have had 2 mind to score a TD. That game was not on lock until then.

The Pats game was on our defense plain and simple. Manning was lights out in that game but if you want to blame him for us giving up 200+ on the ground and not being able to cover Wes Welker go right ahead..

Still waiting for you to show me a Denver win Manning wasn't the instrumental piece in.. because like I've said over and over those early Vikes wins had a lot more to do with Percy Harvin than AP.

Denver wasn't supposed to be 16-0 either. I've already posted a number of links supporting that and the questions about Manning.

My point is that Minny won games on the legs of Percy Harvin while AP was still getting his bearings early in the season..

Denver hasn't won a game this year where Manning didn't dictate what happened on offense, that's what makes him the more VALUABLE player to me.

Plenty of backs have gone over 2,000 yards and not won MVP.

In 2005, SEA's Alexander took it over Peyton (Seattle won 13 games, Colts won 14) on the heels of an 1800+ yard, 27 TD season.

Peyton's stats that season: 28 TD, 10 INT, 67.3% completed, 3747 yards


Going into week 17 this year:

AP: 1898 yards, 11 TD
Peyton: 34 TD, 11 INT, 68.1% completed, 4355 yards

Team wins shouldn't matter much since they're so close (max would be 2 game difference)

I would assume Peyton takes it but if AP goes over the 2000 mark, plenty of writers will be swayed. Would be interesting to see if Peyton loses out despite having 3x as many TDs.

If that is your belief then you must believe a QB should always win the award. You should also believe that Manning should probably have won every MVP since 2003. Manning is the epitome of a player who dictates the offense and has been for the majority of his career.

I wouldn't give it to Peterson simply because of the yardage (that is what offensive player of the year is for), but instead because of the expectations of the team and where they will finish.

That was actually directed more toward Len than you because he keeps bringing up how historic the season is like no one has run for 2,000 yards before.

But I pose you the same task of finding me a Denver win that wasn't powered by Manning.. there have been a few times this year where the Vikings have won games and AP hasn't gotten 100 yards or a TD.

That hasn't been the case in Denver. To say nothing of him taking the worst passing team in the league last season and making them a top 5 offense in the league in 2012.

Not every year but sans a spectacular performance I will side with the QB more often than not because it's the only position involved in every play on offense.

Peterson has had a great year but the guy has 12 TDs and wasn't even the focal point of the offense the first quarter of the season.. his team was 3-1 in that stretch...

Sorry that doesn't just scream "most valuable" to me.

NO....AP missed one game last season....had off season surgery and is back as expected. He is coming back from an injury that almost everyone recovers from.

People recover from that injury, sure, but he's having the season of his life after everyone thought he'd lose a step or wouldn't even be 100%. He definitely wow'd me more than Manning.
