Who wins NFL MVP?

But I pose you the same task of finding me a Denver win that wasn't powered by Manning.. there have been a few times this year where the Vikings have won games and AP hasn't gotten 100 yards or a TD.

If that is your belief then you must believe a QB should always win the award. You should also believe that Manning should probably have won every MVP since 2003. Manning is the epitome of a player who dictates the offense and has been for the majority of his career.

That hasn't been the case in Denver. To say nothing of him taking the worst passing team in the league last season and making them a top 5 offense in the league.

LOL, this is an hilarious post. You are giving credit to Manning for Tebow being the QB. It is obvious that the passing numbers suffered because of Tebow. I'd say that point has less to do with Manning and more to do with how bad Tebow is. Last year Denver was 6th in the league in rushing, but this year they are 25th, so should Manning be downgraded for that?

Not every year but sans a spectacular performance I will side with the QB more often than not because it's the only position involved in every play on offense.

Peterson has had a great year but the guy has 12 TDs and wasn't even the focal point of the offense the first quarter of the season.. his team was 3-1 in that stretch...

He's already actually broken the record and has to deal with defenses keying on him every bit as much if not more than AP.

Plenty of backs have gone over 2,000 yards and not won MVP.

A COMBINATION of a playoff poised team, a record breaking season and a lack of talent surrounding him is why he is the MVP this year.

Denver wasn't supposed to be 16-0 either. I've already posted a number of links supporting that and the questions about Manning.

My point is that Minny won games on the legs of Percy Harvin while AP was still getting his bearings early in the season..

Denver hasn't won a game this year where Manning didn't dictate what happened on offense, that's what makes him the more VALUABLE player to me.

Again, this is you getting more upset your player isn't #1. I have Manning #2 in my MVP race, he deserves to be mentioned. However, at the end of the day AP is having a more deserving season. If Peyton Manning were 15-1 and didn't lose to every great team they've played this year, he'd have a better shot.

Only RBs in the last decade to win MVP were Alexander and Tomlinson who both had record breaking years. Every other year it's a QB.

For the record I'm pretty sure only 5 or 6 guys have broken 2,000 yards in the history of the game, not really plenty of guys :shifty: it's a great accomplishment but its probably not MVP worthy, see Chris Johnson

I'm not upset just merely laying out my reasons as to why you and at least 15 other people here are wrong and responding to your arguments based mostly on conjecture and narrative rather than fact.

I've already said how dumb I think these awards are because there's no criteria and most of the arguments I see made for Peterson over Manning or to exclude Matt Ryan in this thread just exacerbate that.

Like I said before, if Mike Trout doesn't deserve an MVP in 2012 then no one does IMO.

Don't forget OJ Simpson which was really something considering he did it in 14 games. If he had 16 games he would easily still have the record today

What has been the Vikings record since Harvin went down? AP is carrying the offense as much as anyone else in the league.
