What has been the Vikings record since Harvin went down? AP is carrying the offense as much as anyone else in the league.

Maybe it could be said.. maybe it couldn't. I know Brady had a couple stinkers in wins over Miami and just last week against the Jags. Matt Ryan threw 5 INTs and won a game this year. That hasn't been the case with Manning in 2012. The only Denver win he didn't throw at least 2 TDs or for 300 yards was against Baltimore and that's just because we throttled down the offense once it was clear the Ravens didn't come to play in the second half.

And AP had a pretty ordinary day last Sunday as I already pointed out. In three of the Vikings wins this year he's failed to rush for 100 yards or score a TD. Sorry if I'm not going to call the guy the most valuable when a third of the time his team had success he wasn't.

Even if Peterson somehow couldn't play on Sunday, he'd be my pick. Vikings had no expectations at all, Peterson's coming off a gruesome injury that some players take more than a year to fully recover from and he's having a year that all players would dream of...pretty obvious choice IMO, even with Manning's injury (who obviously has been great too, Peterson's just been on another level).

Idk what's more impressive Manning taking a full year off and then coming back and being his usual self or AP tearing up his knee at the end of the year then coming back and having one of the best seasons ever for a RB.

LOL at having multiple neck operations and the rehab that went along with them while hoping his spine would sucessfully fuse together again as taking the year off.

You can't go wrong with either pick but IMO it is MUCH tougher for AP to put up the year he did, especially when the Vikings only receiving threat went down. He faces 8 men in the box and still averages almost 130 yards a game.

A COMBINATION of a playoff poised team, a record breaking season and a lack of talent surrounding him is why he is the MVP this year.

He hasn't broken any records yet, and I know you say playoff poised but just being close will not be enough. If he breaks the record in a win against GB next week that will be enough, until then voters gonna give it to Peyton.

AP should be the MVP and it isn't even a debate, IMO. What these guys did last season should have no bearing whatsoever on the MVP award. What their teams did last season with or without them should, and how their teams would fair this season without them definitely should.

The Vikings without AP are nothing. Especially since Harvin was put on IR around week 11 or 12 I think? The Broncos could have gotten another decent QB or stuck with Tebow and probably still would have won the AFC West considering how bad that division is, but the Vikings without AP are down there with the Lions in that division.

Not to mention what Manning is doing really doesn't impress me and shouldn't impress anyone. I think everyone saw this coming if he was healthy, he's playing at an elite level along with a few other quarterbacks. I don't think anybody saw AP doing this, he's separated himself from every HB in the league and it really isn't close. Not only that but he's cemented himself as one of the best running backs of all time. What he's done this season is just so rare and unexpected, that's why I give him the nod.

I think the healthy argument goes both ways since no one knew for sure if either of these guys would be healthy or what they would look like when they were.

That said I can think of a lot more guys that have come back and been productive after tearing up a knee than have been able to come back from a degenerative spinal condition..

Why don't you bring up the MVPs since 2000, you know the ones that are actually have some relation to today's style of play. You'll notice all but 3 have been QBs and those 3 RBs that won had phenomenal seasons with minimum 18 touchdowns

Yards have never really factored much into the MVP race in recent history it seems to be point driven which AP is having a good year but not enough for an MVP in that category
